OSPS Cashback - Change of terms

Options
I have just been on the phone to OneStopPhoneShop's customer services asking about an automatic chequeback which they haven't sent yet and they have told me about some changes to their cashback procedure. Apparently that they have extended the cashback period from 30days to 45days (along with how long you should wait to get the cashback!) and you no longer need to send in a voucher. The Customer service person said that I was covered by this extension but according to the website it does not cover me as the extended period only applies to orders after 1st February.

Of course, I think I will be sticking to my documented terms and conditions and will be sending the bills in within 30 days with the voucher, but it may be interesting for people thinking about buying a phone from them. Of course I haven't personally received a casback cheque yet, but hopefully will do in the next few weeks.

With regards to the automatic chequeback they say that there is a backlog and they are now processing the orders from October. I'll believe them for now as it is what they have told my girlfriend with regards to her order from September, so at least they are being consistent!

  • I havent received mine either and was told there was a problem with their system which delayed the payments. And that i would receive it by end of jan, still nothing yet, emailed them and had no response.

My 1st cashback form is due to go out, but somebody posted a link on another thread whereby you could check your claim dates. I have my bill already but the cashback period was 2 weeks ahead. Does this mean if i submit too early they wont accept it??
  • Skilgannon, as I said in my post I haven't submitted my first claim yet but I have asked some questions on this link and got some hopefully good advice.

As far as I know, and I am happy to be corrected, you should not send anything until your eligibility period starts. i.e. if your first claim is in month 4 and you bought on 1 October, do not send anything until 1 February. At that point you send in your most recent bill, the last one you received if it will be less than 28 days old when it arrives at OSPS, or your next bill, if it arrives and can be sent to OSPS within the 30 days. In my case my bill will arrive 4 days after I become eligibile and OSPS said I can wait and send that bill.

But like I have said I have not actually been through the process yet with OSPS so I have no actual experience of getting cashback from them and other people may be able to give you better, more accurate advice.
