Camping / Mobile Home Holiday France

Hi,
Help needed please! I am looking to holiday in France in June for 2 weeks. Would like to try a mobile home on camp site. For me, OH and 4 children, 6, 5, 2, and 8 months. Vendee looks lovely, and thought if we travel from Plymouth - Roscoff overnight, this would be easiest. I have looked at eurocamp, europarc and keycamp (they look lovely!). Prices coming in at approx £950 inc ferry.
Does anyone know if I am likely to get this holiday any cheaper!! I have tried some individual sites but the ferry is £500 alone.
All ideas welcome.
Many thanks
A little thanks now and again would be nice.;)

We've found https://www.ianmearnsholidays.co.uk pretty good and a better all-in price with the longer ferry crossings
  • By far the cheapest seems to be Camping Life - the quality isn't the best in the world at all sites but definitely good value for money. The ones you have mentioned are the most expensive. If you want quality and friendly service then I would recommend Ian Mearns.

I've found the last 2 years that booking direct with the campsite is about 50% cheaper than going through Eurocamp, etc. Find the campsite you like then put the name into Google to get their website. Then e-mail them direct to book. On top of the price difference we usually go the last week of August as this is when the French go back to school so the Euro price is even lower. Funnily enough the UK travel companies DO NOT usually pass on this price as they know we are still in school holidays here! The more people that book direct and bypass these rip off merchants, the better!
We also use speedferries.com for the crossing as you can get return from £59.

look at Matthews holidays but your best bet is to try Dover Calais, much cheaper.

I've just booked independently for the first time - going on overnight Plymouth-Roscoff and then staying at a campsite in Brittany. Canvas would have charged over £1100 for this holiday; I've now got it for £770. Chuffed to bits!:money:

we booked through leisure direction a few years ago and when we got there found we could use the keycamp facilities (such as the kids club).
  • Last year we booked with camping life, and stayed in vendee Le Bois Masson. We had a great time although ,I found the sites to be a lot more crammed in than we are here in the Uk .I was a bit shocked. We took the eurotunnel The drive was not to bad although it was the most I would ever consider doing in one day. Vendee is great lots of nice beaches and lovely ice cream!
