Where can I get a decent Game CD scratch remover

Trying to find something to clean up the discs - game discs, DVD's and CD's - generally they are scratched where the kids have left them out so now they have to use their Xmas money to buy a disc repairer.

I've seem some on Amazon and Maplins but was looking for advice on what others use to clean and repair their discs. I know Gamestation charge to get discs cleaned up but figured we might as well buy one the number we have to do.

Thanks.

Have a read of this web page*! But bear in mind that applying an abrasive to the laser surface of a CD is a potentially CD-threatening procedure. I know you will be careful!

    * Ah, I didn't read far enough - this is a commercial organisation which does it for you. I Googled for "CD scratch removal"...

Places like Game, Gamestation, CeX and HMV offer disk repair / repolishing for about £1 a disk using professional equipment far better than you would buy in the the shops. You may be able to do a deal for a few disks ?

This would be for Wii and Xbox games - PS3 are Bluray disks, that are more scratch resistant to start with.

I have use T-Cut (normally used to restore faded/finely scratched car paintwork) with success in making DVDs playable. Use with a soft cloth/duster and fingertip, to polish the worst scratches until playable.

They do, but the staff won't have a clue how to use it - and probably won't even know they have it.

Best to stick to the stores that use them regularly, otherwise you risk them damaging your disks even more.

I once took a faulty game disc to Gamestation and they polished it.
