I hope noone minds, I've made a 2nd purse spreadsheet for people to download here
Yellow fields are updated automatically as they contain formulae.
I think it's fairly straight forward, the first sheet details what's in your stockpile, the second sheet details the transactions from the second purse. The "out of purse" is where you can take out anything over the suggested £100 :)
I know most people have their own spreadsheets, but putting it down like this really helped me get my head around the idea :)

Well done you :j:j It has saved me a job, was just trying to get my head round the best way forward :T:T:T:T:T Thanks

its 10.89 for 15 packs works out at 72p a pack its a saving of around £3 on SM prices . not as much as it used be and you have to have storage for it

Sugar I'm sure I read on a thread the other day that B&M (or somewhere similar - sorry I've forgotten) had sugar for 79p .... so it may be worth a hunt around if you've one nearby.

ETA I just did a quick search to try to find it but was on page 10 and only back to the 16th with all the threads it threw up so I'm afraid I've called it quits just now - will try to think where I saw it.

    Hey everyone :hello:

I stopped at the farm shop on the way back from college to pick up chicken breasts. Ended up with 30 portions for £22.99 - it's all free range which is amazing. I also ordered mince from Donald Russell 8 x 440g packs for £22 (delivery on Friday). That'll do us a while.

Gonna pop into Sainsburys in the next few days to get linguine (De Cecco 78p), some birdseye petits pois (my favourite, £1.07/bag) and a few other bits and pieces. Should come to less than £15.

Adding £44.99 to my signature total :)

Freezer list below if anyone's mad enough to read it.... and this is after eating from the freezer since the beginning of the month :p

    1 x pack bacon
2 x large pork roasting joint
    1 x large pork fillet
    1 x box cooked chicken
    ½ cooked chicken
    1 x large free-range, organic chicken
    31 x chicken breast
    1 x pesto
    1 ½ bags peppers
    9 x pork steaks
    15 x gammon steaks
    5 x bags chorizo
    4 x smoked haddock fillet
    2 x fish in sauce
    1 lb minced beef
    2 x steak
    1 x bag prawns
    2 ½ tubs chilli
    3 x mozzarella
1 x bag chopped mixed veg – for moussaka
    26 sausages
2 x bags grated carrots (soup)
2 x portions cooked lamb (biryani)
    1 x bag strawberries
    2 x bags diced meat pork – I think :A
    21 slices steak sausage
    8.25kg butter :o:o:rotfl:
Handful frozen chips and 5 yorkshire puddings.
    Few cartons milk

Should keep us going for a while :rotfl:

I'm having a rotten time at the moment being made redundant, broken ankle and and and.... its been one thing after another.

Sorry to hear you are having a tough time of it. I was made redundant myself in 2010, a couple of weeks before I gave birth. Best thing that happened to me so I hope everything works out for the best for you.
If anyone can recommend a good moisturiser for a lady in her mid 40's then I would be grateful. The other thing I was wondering is whether I should create a second budget for toiletries? I don't really want to include these bits in my grocery budget and wondered what others do?

I am 41 and use Oil of Old Age (olay), the total radiance one is nice and light but is fine for my slightly dry skin. I include toiletries in my grocery budget but not perfume or make up as I like the pricey stuff unfortunatley and pay for it out of my personal spending money.

Rubbish day at work when my boss completely undermined me with another manager then told me it was the way things were done at our company:eek::mad: Chippy tea was required and I didn't have anything in for lunch for me as I used it up making lunch for DH and DS so bought some carp at work to eat in the 15 minute break I managed all day:mad:

I get paid tomorrow so am declaring at £588.03, £88.03 over budget. This was for a 5 week month and included my full Christmas food and booze shop so why I didn't increase it from my normal £100/week budget I will never know! Taking that into consideration, and the fact we seem to have had quite a few takeaways this month I am not too put out by the figure.

Last night I said I wanted to come in at under £300 for Feb but I think this is unrealistic as it is a 5 week month for us. I am going to aim for £400 for Feb which is a reduction of £20/week on my normal budget as my last 3 weeks averaged out at this figure.
    Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
    Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
    Make £2021 extra income - £99.75
  • Does anybody know how many the prawn and chickpea curry recipe serves. Thanks
