Today SHOULD have been a NSD :mad:
had to get some foil, just goes to show the cheaper one from HB's only had 5m at 35p so not such a bargain as Mr M's value one is 20m for 64p
So I spent 64p today...................have decided meal planning is the bees knees and motherships 2nd purse should be taught in schools:D

I have updated my signature. Month end is the 31st for me so it is going to be a close call but I am determined to be within budget. I am really annoyed with myself after a trip to MrT. I had a plan for our tea and had the ingredients in the freezer but I got diverted by a whoopsie deal for expensive fishcakes with a cheesey middle at half price, £1.50. I bought two boxes, one for tea and one for the freezer. They were mediocre at best and certainly not as nice as my original plan so I spent £3.00 on something I didn't need and didn't particularly enjoy. Grrrrr. I must stick to the list, I must stick to the list, I must stick to the list........0

Another nsd today. Dinner was random though!! I had some whoopsied spicy meatballs that needed eating and wouldn't fit into the freezer (seriously, no amount of freezer tetris would get them in!!), so I cooked them off yesterday. Today, then, I had a kind of meatball sub for dinner. I put 2 (ood) cheese slices over 2 bits of bread, nuked the meatballs and put them on, them nuked some ready-for-the-bin generic do!mio for the sauce! Not the best meal I've ever done, but all stuff that would've been chucked. I'm off to have a fruit salad for pud, to make me feel slightly more healthy!
Tomorrow packed lunches already made :j, and tomorrow dinner is tuna pasta bake. I try to make something every other thursday that will do us for the friday as well. My ex has the children every other weekend, and I drop them off after swimming lessons, but when I keep the children, I can't cook and watch swimming as well, and we don't get home til 6!! So, dinner is something that can be nuked, or stuff on toast/soup. That therefore means that tom and fri will be the nsds i had planned they would be :A.
Check us all out, doing so well!

NSD today - can,t beleive how quick this month is going!!!Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!
£300/£1300 -
£1.29 spent on a cup of tea and a coconut macaroon for breakfast today as I had run out of cereal bars and forgot I had bought the double pot thing from Ald1 to take cereal in. Do you think the coconut counts as 1 of my 5 a day?:o;)
Also had to add £3.99 for the B1G2F scampi that I bought out of my 2nd purse and gave DH for his tea. We were supposed to have pasta bake for tea tonight but I really couldn't be bothered to make it so grabbed some stuff out of the freezer.:o
I must make a list of the contents of both my freezers and my big food cupboard as we are intending to eat out of them next month as Feb is going to be a tight month for us due to unpaid sick leave and my expenses not getting processed in time due to me being off work.
I am hoping to come in at under £300 for 33 days for 2 adults, a toddler in nappies and 2 small dogs for everything. I used to be able to do this before DS came along and he doesn't cost that much to feed so this is my ultimate goal. I have started shopping at Ald1 and this along with meal planning, avoiding takeaways and the staff canteen and only shopping once a week is how I tend to do it.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
Make £2021 extra income - £99.750 -
Pennygrabber-you sound like me after my visit to Iceland today! I have 2 canneloni in the fridge as I couldn't get all 4 of them in the freezer! These were half price at £1 each. Also got spinach half price for 50p per bag.I'd done the freezer tetris thing-even emptied bags and slid things in small gaps but no more room! I think we need pacman in there-gobbling it up!(or pack man in my case). Had a few NSDs and spent £16.50 in Iceland. Got a refund from Coop for lemon teabags as I'd got the wrong ones.I had only paid 74P for them and didn't have the receipt with me . I had the full price of £1.48 back! Not often I am onto a winner! Glad I waited a week now!Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0

tracey12 - I've only started the 2nd purse this month too, and am quite 'overdrawn' setting it up, but I've decided not to pay that money back, well not for the foreseeable future anyway. Hoping that my Jan GC spend budget will come in under budget so any left over can offset my 'offers spending. I also had lots of stock in cupboards all over the house before I started this and have relocated them to my 'shop' and put a price on them to boost the coffers.
ANOTHER NSD!:j0 -

I love it!:D:D:DI didn't realise but I've been playing freezer tetris all month since I started the dont throw food away challenge and the grocery challenge.... I had thought it was a complete headache fitting everything in - but if I think of it as Tetris I'll enjoy it! (especially with cold fingers to chase OH round the kitchen with as an added bonus!):eek::eek:
I'm having a rotten time at the moment being made redundant, broken ankle and and and.... its been one thing after another. Coming on this site every night and catching up with all your antics and meeting you lot has really made me feel like I'm not alone and there are others who are having just as tough a time, facing up to it and getting on with it. I think you are all really brave and have some fabulous ideas.....thank you so much. I'm proud to be associated with you.:T:T:TDFWNerd 1417
