That's not a very good day honey, hope you are feeling better xx

I have FINALLY finished my tax return :j:beer:

(Well, all apart from the bit of paper showing how much interest I paid on a loan for 3 months in 2009  )

Off into town to take it into the accountants and buy them a box of flapjacks or something as they have patience beyond patience. I hate doing paperwork :(

Still have all my papers out so will try to get on and do the next year whilst it's all fresh in my head... (yeah right!)

Have a great afternoon all xx

If you go to page 1 of this thread it's on post no 6 "Mothership's purse" :T
Thank you :) Google didn't turn up anything, will look there now.

I love it, I'm going to have to make myself another purse I have some gorgeous fabric for it. Plus I got a freecycled bookshelf for the wardrobe on saturday which already has choc spread, tom puree and pasta on it. I can find the prices I paid for those and keep a list, then pay myself when I use them. Excellent. mothership thank you very much for the info and suep19 for pointing out the post :)

Another smallish spend today £4.00 in sainsbugs on 2 packets of ham and 2 bottle of milk. Really hoping I don't need much else before the weekend.. I'll be fine tommorrow as i'm off work and pllnning on staying in and clearing up the house (its always looks so dull and bear after Christmas). My biggest problem seems to be that I work in the town centre with so many shops that always have special offers that I always think I may as well take advantage off. My spends are never particularly big, apart from my main shop at the beginning of the month, but there always regular.

Love the idea about the second purse, may well have to investigate this idea. I've also thought that starting the February challenge i'm going to draw our grocery money out of the bank and keep it separate as I normally only keep track using this thread.

ClaireT13 - sorry to hear you've been in the wars, hope you're getting lots of help from your loved ones x

    Spent £9.23 today on:

    2 x loaves bread
    carrots
    garlic
    Potatoes
    Kitchen Rolls
    lemons
Mini whisk set (was given free after asking the price as it wouldn't scan ;) )

I have enough cleaning products and most toiletries to last at least the month (will need to buy shampoo sooner or later though). I have weekly veg boxes ordered but have lots of staples in the cupboard/fridge so shouldn't need to spend too much over the next week or two (here's hoping!)

I hope everyone had a good day.

May I recommend for those of you near a Lid1, to try their milk powder. Everyone we suggest it to throws their hands up in the air in disgust remembering that naff milk powder (5 pints was it called?) from years ago, but the Lid1 stuff is superb.

i do buy lidl dried milk and love it but DS drinks a lot of fresh milk. a throwback to when he had massive problems with his tonsils when he was younger and threw up just about everything he ate, so he developed a passion for milk.

  • Afternoon All,

Hadnt logged on in ages as had a tricky weekend, OH decided he was Peterpan and went on a complete bender. Pretty sure he is still hiding the extent of it to me, but neadless to say I didnt sleep well with picking him up at 4am from a mates house. I got up early and walked to the shop to buy a bottle of OJ that I didnt need but just wanted an excuse to get out the house so sat in the park and drank my juice and waited for the dust to settle. NSD yesterday, was hoping for one today but turns out OH drank all the milk to try and get over his hangover and I need some for cottage pie mash topping tonight and pasta dish tomorrow.

Rubberised a chicken last night LO from Sundays roast dinner, managed to get a huge amount of stock from it, and about 800g of meat and that was after the roast dinner so all bagged up and frozen for another three meals. I promise I will never buy chicken breasts again unless I need to cook them whole and wrapped in bacon / parma ham as they are SOOOOO EXPENSIVE. Biggest problem I have is I think I managed to drain / strain the stock and freeze it before bed, but I have a horrible feeling the rest of the bones might still be sitting in the pan in the kitchen. Hoping this will go undetected by the two cats.... will teach me for falling asleep before doing the dishes, but we cant all be perfect.

Have managed to shed 6lbs this week which is all my Xmas weight plus an extra pound, thats now a stone lost so pretty sure most people at work are sick of me trying to keep my trousers up... must get to the alteration shop and see if they can bring them in a bit for me.

    Wishing you all well.

    E x

We go through at least 4 pints of milk a day at our house, and its just the boys! My 3 year old can easily have 6 or 7 cups a day , thought I'd save a packet when I weaned the baby off formula as I was spending £19 a week on that but now I'm spending about £10 on cows milk. Oh well, I'd rather they drank it than not :D
