Paint not adhering to walls

It might be worth me testing this on the wall to see if it seals them enough to just apply another coat of Dulux
means that you are slightly joking. What you are suggesting is priming a paint for another paint to stick to it when firstly it probably doesn't need it and secondly the problem lies beneath the paint you are going to prime. So you will then have three layers of paint not attached to the surface you originally painted. That makes great sense.

Why did you use lining paper? It might well be easier to strip the lining paper off and start again to be honest.0

The one and only time I painted matt emulsion on a wall previously covered with silk I swore it was a mistake I wouldn't make again, it cracked and started rubbing off straight away. Also I personally would never use a matt emulsion in a kitchen because it's not washable, if you try to wash your walls down the paint will just rub off. I prefer the look of matt emulsion but I always use silk in any areas where I'm likely to have to wash the walls like the kitchen and also the hallway where the dog comes in and out of the house.Dum Spiro Spero0

You can use acrylic matt such as Dulux Endurance, which is washable.Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0 -

The lining paper was previously used because of the poor quality of the walls.
There is only a very small area of painted wall in the "kitchen" area of the room. I prefer the look of matt paint to silk/satin which shows all imperfections and brush marks.
I've purchased some Polycell 3 In 1 Problem Wall Primer ready for redecoration.0
