help need BT internet alternative

hi all
I'm a scunnered BT customer had enuff of paying for a service that is unusable I'm looking for a Internet alternative, theres no 3g so was thinking Sat Internet but I do a bit of downloading but dont mined doing it at night (seen sat providers the let u DL between 11pm-5am) dont mind paying around £50 for a decent reliable service but cheaper the better, i would rip out phone and internet quite happly.
Over two months ago i had a bit of a crackle on my line and around the same time started with BT broadband hoping i would get all sorted by BT.
I live at the end of a long road in the country side where our cable for tel goes through trees etc and somewhere along the line damage has been done to it so when it gets windy or when it rains and water gets in the line it crackles to the point where the phone is unusable and the broadband drops to nothing speeds or just disconects all the time, in n.ireland this is usually daily. I have called BT over 50 times and had 4 engineer vistits where its been a ok on day so no crackle so they report the faults been fixed even tho it hasnt, the last engineer did get a crackle and recomended a section replaced. Now BT have rung agin saying they want me to take another day of work (9th as several days that were booked they never turned up which were crackley days ofcorse) cause they want another engineer to inspect the line (i suspect they dont want to replace the cable) been through esclation team etc which goes nowhere. I have had enuff of BT's terrible service where it seems they dont give a monkies as u have no alternative providers.

Hi Cozzyman,
Reading your post it does sound like you have had a bit of a frustrating time of late with your Broadband service. I would like to take a look at your connection to see if there is anything I can do to help.
Please could you send me in your details using the link found in my profile?
Thanks

Are you in a cable area.
Without either cable or bt line you would only have the choice of mobile broadband or satelite broadband the latter being very expensive and usually slow compared to most ASDL2 offerings..0 -
sorry 4got to say no cable avalible closest cable is 40 miles away in forgoten n.ireland :-(
and no fiber, my only resonable solution was satalite but there are restrictive to download
limits was thinking about something like http://www.satelliteinternet.co.uk/packages?pkg=2
would prefer my 2mb internet i had when i moved in to here 2 years ago.0 -
Forget satellite, as you still need an uplink to send the data to the servers (your satellite connection only provides the downlink). Professional systems are two-way, but are outwith the reach of most due to cost). Ping rates are also slower, so it may be better to let BT try to resolve the issue.0
