ESA renewals

I received my first ESA questionnaire around June. Filled it in with as much detail as I could. The first thing I received from them was my P45 which freaked me out at the time as I didn't know what was happening. After speaking with them they told me I had been awarded ESA without a medical. I get income and contribution based. Renewal is next June.
I don't understand why but my ESA payment is higher than my previous IB and IS.0
