Incorrect item and postage refund

Hmm...I was under the impression that if a retailer did not honour their obligations under the law, the card provider would be obligated, under their charge back provision to refund the money and then subrogate the charge to the retailer.
It might be Which?'s interpretation as well.
Ip op pays £20 for goods including original postage, then pays £4 to RM to return it as it is the wrong item, a chargeback can be filed for the amount paid which is the £20, op can't make a chargeback for £24 ie more than the purchase total to include the return postage costs which it seems op is trying to reclaim.0 -
The original postage was £3.99. If at least I got that back at least it is something!Charlie0

Excellent point, thank you.The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

Consumer Rights...HELP - Gift Cards
Apologies I am postin in here im new and couldnt find a way to add a new post
I purchased a 100 gift card for my hubby for xmas.. our nearest all saints store is 45 mins away and upon visitin the store today, queing for half an hour and gettin to the till the gift card wouldnt work. The balance was showing as 100 (and the money has been debited from when i bought it in November). The manager called their IT dept who said it would be Customer Service to sort, who were closed!
He was incompetent and wouldnt help despite saying he can see there is a balance but the card wont swipe or go through.
Humiliated and an all round 80 mile trip to come home empty handed.
I will be calling them in the morning to complain I was fuming. Any extra support or advice as I am wanting compensation for travelling to the store and this is clearly their error?
Thanks0 -

Best to start a new thread0 -
You really would be better starting a new and separate thread about this. Go to the Consumer Rights board and click on the button marked "New Thread." It is positioned just above the words "Threads in Forum," above the thread titles. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0

@OP - did you return both pairs or only the wrong size pair? If only the wrong ones then original postage cost still stands. However they are obligated to refund the returns postage costs.0

Ian, only the wrong size pair were returned.Charlie0
