The cheapest red roses were found last year by a poster who went into Woolies and bought 12 red Roses from the pic and mix

Not available for delivery but yesterday Wiliknsons were selling single red roses for £1.30 & 6 plus a bit of gyp in the bunch for £3.99, in a bucket by the door in my branch. Looked OK quality although clearly not the very best but would be OK if your other half appreciates when you are on a budget;)

I know Aldi were doing roses for really cheap. Can't find it on their web now, but I do get weekly emails from them and I sure they were only £8ish.

Couldn't say for the quality but I have bought flowers from them in the past and they have lasted a few weeks. I just keep putting a bit of lemonade in the vase.

Let me know if anyone checks them out. I won't be as I don't know any man who is worth spending £8 on.

ive just had a email advert from asda saying that a dozen red roses in store now £2.00 but I havent been there myself my nearest asda is too far.

can anyone tell me the quality of the roses in each of the supermarkets mentioned by Martin. If the £4.99 Morissons ones are much worse than the £6 Tesco ones then it will be worth travelling that bit further.

And how good are the £15 premium Sainsburys ones?

What does "dark pinky yellow" look like? According to my bf, who went to ASDA this morning, they sold out of red roses, and that is the only colour left. Maybe he should have gone yesterday... :rotfl:

I have used Asda for the first time this year and they seem fine to me. I have used M&S, Tescos and Sainsburys in the past and they all seem much of a muchness. You get what you pay for. And it's the thought that counts.

Tried Valueflora at Xmas and would never use again, they were poor.
