Hi , im simply looking for some advice!
I opened up a playtrade account and sold alot of my stock as i used to run a games shop , long story short it didnt work out.
I have sold £1300 of stuff.
I opened my account in november.
Basically it works pritty much the same as amazon you request when you want your money withdrawn.
Ok so i sold 1 thing to test it out £29.99 withdrew it took around 7 days but was fine!
So i put all my stuff on....
I withdrew £500 on the 29th of november and im still waiting for that now.
So i ring them up...
Ok sir sorry to hear this we will resolve this issue and contact you within 24-48 hours. 7 days later no reply.
Ring again get the exact same.
I have rang up 6 times and emailed 5 times and not a single reply. i mean this is a lot of money to be stuck in cyber space!
So next i log in and get this message:
Your account has been temporarily suspended and requires further verification.
Please contact our Customer Support Team on 0845 800 1020 or +44 (0)1534 877595 (from outside the UK)
So i call them. they tell me i need more feedback, so i message all the buyers (after scouting through every email invididually.)
Bear in mind the majority will not leave it.
so now my profile on playtrade only has 4 feedback the rest have ignored me.
I am really really really worried i need this money. what should i do next? contact a solicitor ? anyone had any simular expiriences.
I had to get an instant loan to buy my children christmas presents! as i was really depending on this!
Please help! thanks alot!:(

The problem is that from their point of view, you come along, sell a load of gear very quickly then want to take the money and leave. I'm sure you can see that from their point of view that looks a bit suspect. If you were doing this on Ebay you may well get the same thing with the 30 day hold on payout that PayPal imposes on new sellers, that also relies on feedback from satisfied customers.
I don't know Play that well but you may well find that after the 'returns' period for anything you've sold has run out then they will allow you to withdraw your money. You could re-contact them and see if that is the case, or it may be in the T&C's on their website. As you have 4 feedback presumably you can withdraw the money from those sales if you need some cash, although it maybe a good idea to check with them first if that is possible as you already have a pending withdrawal.
Only other thing I can suggest you do is list more stuff, then you look like a committed long term seller.0 -
I understand where you are coming from. But why the lack of emails/communication. Why didn't they tell me this?0
-
Ring them up on - 01534 877595 and ask.
If you dont get the right answer, put the phone down again, ring again and speak to someone else.0 -
Would it cost me an arm and a leg to call them on this number ?0
-
Ok so just called the number , got through to somone they told me to wait so i asked to speak to the supervisor , after waiting for 3 mins the phone is picked up then hung up.
What now ?0 -
Is it me ? Why don't you try ringing again.0
-
Done that and the supervisor is surposed to be calling me back. i dont think they will. The customer service is so bad!0

The "01" number will be Free of Charge to any UK Contract deal, as part of the package.
Nevermind the endless packages available from BT/TalkTalk/Virgin for UK National calls.
I would just keep ringing back until someone gives you the answer you require. Asking for the supervisor straight away will not help things.
I would imagine the phone call would go something like...
Them - "Welcome to Playtrade..How may we help you?"
You - "Hi, my name is XXXX. My Playtrade username is XXXX. I have a problem with my account, I wonder if you can help me. I recently sold some stuff on your website, which now my account is frozen/locked. I was wondering if you can help me on this, as its not very clear what i need to do?
"
Them - "Ok Sir, this is what you need to do. You need to provide us with....."
You - "Thats Great, for future reference if i need to call back, Can i take your name & a number to get you on?"
Them - "Its XXX"
You - "Thanks, Bye Bye"0 -
Unfortunately, I think the OPs more concerned about losing pennies on a phone call than £1300 to Playtrade, so something is a bit suspect here.0

How can you be so judgmental? an awful lot of the company phone numbers are premium rate so he was probably checking that.
You are accusing someone of something you know nothing about, this forum is meant to be helpful.0
