I can't pay via eBay as it says "you cannot pay for this item because the seller did not specify a shipping method, please contact the seller to arrange payment". (I'm buying via my phone and on the of I've asked for an invoice, which she refuses to send). There's nothing on the PayPal invoice to suggest its for an eBay item- doesn't mention it anywhere. I'm just paying her direct, she could surely still open a npb against me?

Edited to say I've paid - its only £6.99 so I guess the world won't end if Im not covered and you've all said I should pay!

It sounds like the phone glitch is happening again.

Can you just confirm whether the auction shows a postage charge in the correct place or not? If seller can't send an ebay invoice as she is trying to get round a postage cap then be careful .

Ask the seller to mark the item as payment received, that should change yours to Payment sent.

    From
    http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/buy/questions/mark-as-paid.html

As long as your seller acknowledges receiving payment, your part of the transaction is complete.

The seller marks the item as Payment Received on their My eBay page, the payment status in My eBay will be automatically updated to display as Payment Sent.

Not quite, marking as 'payment received' does very little. All that matters is that a buyer pays through paypal for named goods as that is all paypal need to be able to do a claim. The payment status on ebay is immaterial.

The auction says 'alternative courier' and I can't 'just pay' - even the ebay on my pc makes me ask for a full amount/invoice, so I have done that. She sent me a paypal invoice in the same way as I could send to any tom !!!!!! or harry for any reason. I went to pay with paypal last night and I thought it worked but I've had an email back to say it 'failed due to insufficient funds' (I can hunt it out if you like for the exact words). I'm doomed not to pay but I can pay if I use my phone for other transactions (I've been a little busy with the ebay app this week :rotfl:)
