Seller won't send me an invoice

Hi, I won a dress last night, and want to pay today. Seller has sent me a PayPal invoice, and won't send me an eBay one. So I have a seller sending PayPal invoices and eBay telling them thats right- surely its not?

I don't want to pay unless I know I'm covered - she states that eBay have said I am, but surely I'm not as it's technically not through eBay? Any help would be brilliant as I'm so unsure what to do:(

You may send an invoice to the buyer from your PayPal account through given steps. You'll need to ask the buyer for their correct PayPal email address to be able to send the invoice.

    1. Log in to PayPal and go to Request Money > Create an Invoice. 2. Fill in the details on the Create Invoice page (your details as the sender, the buyer's as the invoice receiver, item details) and click 'Continue'. 3. Review the invoice details carefully. If everything is correct, click 'Send Invoice'.

Kindly send the buyer an invoice from your Paypal account through the steps I mentioned above.

Will the buyer still be protected (refunds etc?)

I mean, is it safe in all aspects?

    Absolutely Seller

So, as you see, you will be protected and you can check my feedback and see that i'm an honest seller.

  • You're as protected as you would be through eBay, as even if eBay won't protect you you'll still have PayPal buyer protection anyway
  • So I'm ok to pay this invoice? She now says she can't garage enough postage unless she does it this way- is this a legit way to get around the limits? (I want to sell a boxset of DVDs and
    Don't fancy the postage hit!)

Do you need an invoice though? Just go to your eBay account, look in the "won" section and select "pay now" from the item listing? Or am I missing something.

  • It says I can't make a payment as the seller hasnt issued an invoice and agreed postage. Or words to that effect. If I pay through PayPal then I can't tell eBay I've paid and she can open a npb?

Seller would need to send you an invoice with the eBay item number specified, to enable you to prove to eBay you had paid.

  • I can't find a link to explain this to her - she's adamant I pay the PayPal invoice :(

  • pay pal and ebay are the owned by the same people, just pay it, you are totally safe
  • forgot to say, if you log into your ebay account, you can click on the item you won and select 'pay now' and then just pay for it that way.
