Just want a heads-up for any expected hassle in returning a faulty X-box game from Game. What are my chances of achieving this without any arguments?

ETA: Can't find flipping receipt (might be able to later, if I look hard enough), but I do have it on the loyalty card.

I dont see you would have a problem, surely they could test it to be sure.

I hope so, but one hears of so many horror stories, with such excuses as, "software is not protected by the SOGA." I just wanted to know what others have experienced.

I've never really had any trouble when returning to game. AFAIK they do have machines they can test the games on.

Why not call in advance and explain the situation and see what the manager says? :D

    Ohh come on.... :rotfl:

IIRC software can be returned like any other faulty goods provided that the fault(s) are significant. Almost all software has minor bugs and there is an allowance for this, but if the fault is not just a minor bug them the return should go the same way as any other return.

Not that it should make much of a difference, with proof of purchase (theoretically) being on the loyalty card, but without it, I think I might have some difficulty in returning the goods.

If you want to exchange, then go when it's busy. We had a faulty Xbox from there last Xmas and we'd lost the receipt. But with queues going out of the door (it was 27th December), they just swapped it without batting an eyelid.
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

There is a streaky mess under the exterior coating of the disc (of the mirror side), it looks like glue; as such it won't play. It looks as though it has delaminated?

  • If you bought it using a Reward Card, they can call customer services and look up the transaction on your card.
