I think this box normally costs about £22 so I'm a very happy bunny!
I am sure they do smaller boxes though and I would definately order from them again, just hoping the meat is as good.
I am now thinking watercress pesto or maybe waiting for the organic bacon in the meat order to turn up and have watercress, bacon and stilton salad.
Cauliflower cheese for sure later in the week, Pumpkin soup or maybe a vegetable curryAs you say very inspiring. Abel and Coles order turned up today so I also have:-
1/2 lb mushrooms
3 leeks
1 pointed cabbage
2 Grapefruit
4 more fairtrade bananas
4 blood oranges
3/4 lb carrots
1 1/4 lb potatoes
so I am going to be very busy today!
Definately on a roll - next door neighbour has just given me some lovely fresh rosemary! I am off to do some hm aunt bessies roast spuds but in olive oil and rosemary! yum!

Had to get to Lidl's today but what a difference to my normal shopping habit! I didn't look once at their special offers, just went in, got my things and went out again.
I noticed that I am beginning to prefer the small shops and don't like walking round the big shops (this used to be my favourite past time). When I walked round Sainsbury's yesterday to compare prices, I was glad to get out there and found the same in Lidl's today. Has anybody else noticed that?He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever.

Whereabouts in West Wales are you? I've come across a couple of box schemes in the area.
Optimist
Know just what you mean - when I drove past Tescos at weekend it looked Huge & really scary!0 -
hi....the optimist......yep....i feel the same going into the co-op for my high juice..... sounds really silly but its like mini panic attack......and ye i used to loooooove shopping in tescos...... only because i thought i was getting bargins....ok... yes i used to use money off coupons flaunt their h&b loophole and also their r&r policy......but these were never guarenteed.....and i used to find i allways used to buy extra.. just incase they did except the vouchers etc......so i allways used to spend loads of money.....
but i find this way of shopping is def.... saving me money.......as no impulse buys.... and only buying what i need....when i more or less run out......so instead of doing a big shop once a week and then nipping out for milk. during the week.and seeing offers and buying them.... so end up spending £20.
also this way of shopping as also helped me meal plan properly......and not get side tracked by junky snack foods.....
catznine......now that looks like a nice lot of fruit and veg....bananas looks as though they need to be used fairly quickly... but that cauli looks really nice....
hi.. dameon1024......where in west wales are you ? maybe kscour could give you some nice places to visit to get some fruit and veg........keep us posted on how you get one.....:T
well done katmad99.......sounds as though you got some bargins there.......you will need to use a supermarket until you find out where you can get your items..... but you are doing brilliantly..... plus you havent spend as much as you would at a supermarket......
so with what other peeps have found...... overall it is evening out.... and being cheaper......maybe main reason becasue there is no impulse buys.....
and ye this rebellion is fun:D
also adding to what the optimist is saying..... do you feel calmer....or some sort of contentment when you come home from shopping.. lest stressed......like a satisfied feeling..... or is that only me.....Work to live= not live to work0 -
It felt like such a drag, shuffling around a supermarket that 'stocks' everything, yet you still can't find it...its lovely to go in and out of all the local shops, still getting what you need, at less of a cost. I haven't been back to a supermarket for so long, i don't know how i'd feel, although when i did drive past a Tesco, i felt sorry for all the others going in there.
I have been to the local chemist again today and then straight home - i am in the town centre anyway when i have dropped DS off to school, so it wouldn't make sense to then get in my car and drive 5 miles just to pick up some calpol.
Ps - i love doing those price comparisons and the local shops coming up better!!! Smug!:T :TBuy nothing for a month challenge - Oct

I'm in Pencader, it's just outside of Llandysul. I've had a look around but it seems that most providers of such services can't afford to market themselves. I was looking for a milk delivery and having been here for 6 years, finally tracked one down and have started this week. They had been going for 13 years and I couldn't find any info on them, had to actually stop the driver when I saw her.Consider anything only don't cry!0
