    Hi Lil_me

Have you phoned to complain - I would give them a call and explain what it was like and how disappointed you were. Nothing confrontational, but if they are a good company, they should sort something out for you.

Oops, just reread your reply and you say they are going to give you a refund - good luck, I hope they do.

Oh yes, half hour call, she said couldn't understand it, told me to just freeze it, so explained no freezer space hence I ordered fresh because I wanted FRESH!! I just said listen *banged frozen sausages off bench* ah I see what you mean was the reply. Also the thought being if this was all frozen then has defrosted mince, pork, chicken and sausages still frozen in middle, then should I refreeze, they said would be fine, but worries me. They did offer to replace but don't want it happening again. Makes it worse is DPs step Dad was a butcher (yes they lost family business because of larger traders mainly) and he's a right fuss pot with meat at the best of times, so when he came down half way through conversation he had a little shout :rotfl:

That courgette one sounds nice, might just try that, had them once in a veg lasagne and think they were ok :rotfl: I like most veg it's just me and celery have issues :D I kept it next to the door to take it for my friend as the smell was making me feel poorly! I'd rather that than it went in the bin.
One day I might be more organised...........

It looks as though goodness direct should have stuck at what they knew best ie non-fresh meat/veg/fish produce. I placed a grocery order with them today but I did notice that there are many more non-organic items in their store. Also the cheaper items were at the bottom of the list

Nevertheless their delivery is very fast and the items are well packaged so I can`t complain

The fruit and veg selection is great. The meat is another story.

Sorry to hear about your problems with your meat order from Goodness Direct :(

For future meat orders there are some alternative suppliers listed in this post, including quite a few I have used and been happy with and I know other people on here have used some of them too [eg: Jimmy's Farm, Moorlands Farm Shop; Well Hung Meat] so will probably be able to help with recommendations:

Thanks I will have a look at those, tempted to stick with my usual local farm shop, never had any problems and used them for years, all the produce is local aswell, but thought would give online ordering a go.

What!!  you ordered fresh they delivered frozen/semi frozen and said refreeze it should be fine:eek: Very nice to offer to replace but I don't think I'd have taken them up on the offer either! I think I would also ask why your friend had totally different veg delivered to what you recieved and is this normal. You do seem to have drawn the short straw but don't settle for it!

    .

I have just been reading through I cannot believe how much you have had to pay for such a small amount of fruit and veg ~ what a rip off. It looks like whoever packed yours was short of food at home.

Just looked at the box my goodness direct meat order came in and noticed it had Swaddles written on the bottom. On looking at their website it would seem that Swaddles supply goodness direct with the hampers.

Seems swaddles is cheaper to order from direct aswell, rather than being sent to Goodnessdirect then to customer. Mince for example is £1 cheaper!

This is my favourite local farmshop! They run a rent an apple tree scheme as well which is well worth doing.
