Advice please....My car will not start
Comments

Disconnect the battery overnight an if that makes a diference
is sounds like a short/drain.0 -
Well, I have just attempted to jump start the car using my mates Ka.......no success.
The battery warning light says the battery needs charging ( so I suspect there is something draining the power).
I may invest in a trickle charger tomorrow from Wilkos ( I can at least walk there).
Otherwise its a £40 excess for the break down company to get me to the local garage to investigate the problem.
Anybody got any more ideas

Get someone to give you a push and bump start the car. How much was you charged for the new alternator.0

Haven't you got a couple of mates who can give you a push start?"There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0

The alternator was £125 inc fitting......I would love to be able to bump start it.....its in a sloping (wrong way) drive...and live in a dual carriageway in a hill.....
I am doomed ....lol
I have another friend bringing round a charger in the morning. Then its off to the garage to get it sorted once and for all.Slimming world new starter 2/1/17

How do you mean the jump starting failed? Regardless of battery condition connecting jump leads from a known good and running car should have given the power to at least turn the engine over after a minute or two. Did the engine actually turn over? I don't understand what's happening here.0

I bet it needs a new battery. If the place where you took the car didn't do a drop test on the battery i would take the car to someone thats knows what they are doing.0

Has it got any petrol in the tank?
Is the front of the car facing uphill or the back?British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
