Wonder if anyone could help me

A few years ago I used to use icq and was able to send sms messages via there, now it seems like it's only available in certain countries (not uk).

Does anyone know of any other applications that might offer this service?

You could try this site: http://www.cbfsms.com/ and I don't know if this still works, but there's this application from years ago: http://www.genietexter.co.uk/
