Any reason not to switch from o2 to Tesco?

Out of my contract and upgrading, finally.

Looking at getting an HTC, and went on the o2 website, put in the code thingy and was a little bit annoyed as the 'deals' they were offering supposedly tailored to me with my code were more or less the same as what they were offering people who hadn't been loyal customers for over two years. But I digress.

Anyways, free handset, 600 mins and unlimited texts with o2 was £32.
On Tesco the same free handset, 750 mins and 5000 texts is £25.

I'm nowhere near popular enough to send 5000 texts a month, so the Tesco deal seems a no-brainer.

Is there anything I'm missing? Any reason I shouldn't go with Tesco?

I'm with tesco on sim-only and experience is essential identical to o2 just at a reduced price :D.

Tesco don't allow call waiting or call diverts though if this is something you need :)

None as far as I'm concerned - switched from O2 to Tesco in May with no regrets and plenty more minutes. O2 didn't even try to get anywhere near when I asked them for a price match.

If video streaming over 3G is something you use, check that Tesco Mobile offers this. I have a Tesco Mobile 3G Samsung Wave that will only stream Youtube over wi-fi. My son's Tesco mobile iPhone, however, allows streaming over 3G because Tesco had a special deal with O2 to use this facility for iPhone users. Not sure if this applies to HTC. I would check first.

That is the phone/app not the network, my Satio would do similar, until I installed handyWi, HTC phones should not require the app though.

That's not what Tesco Mobile told me. They said they lease the O2 network to service their network for mobile phones. They have a special rate hence can keep the prices low. However they made a special deal with O2 to furnish iPhones differently allowing them to offer an enhanced service which includes streaming video. I just said it's worth checking!

That is the kind of thing I was thinking of. Having said that, I'd need it for emails, facebook, directions, checking dodgy investments haven't tanked while I'm away from my computer, that sort of thing. Can't imagine I'll be streaming video as the cost wouldn't be worth it, whatever network I was on.
