not topped up in ages but i can still send txt messages
i'm on o2 and tbh ive never topped my phone up for easily over 6 months as i rarely use it that often but the other day my other half came in from work and said my phone had sent a blank txt to her phone just before she got home, so i tried sending another txt to my m8 to see if it would do it again which it did and so for the past couple of days ive been sending txt's with no credit or no bolt ons on my phone and every one of them send ok...:j
Has any1 else experienced this before or is O2 doing some sort of xmas promotion where it allows people to txt for free ????
let me know if u have had this also please
thanks

If you haven't used your phone for a while, they will message you to say 'Here's some free text/minutes in an effort to get you using the phone again' If you don't switch on the handset before the message expires (maximum 7 days) you'll have the free texts or minutes and no notification.
You can get a balance of any allowance (free or otherwise) by sending BALANCE to 20202.
If its not that then you are just lucky.0 -
This used to happen to me when I was on o2, I topped up £10 and the texts were meant to last for a month but I would still beable to use them for months without topping up, you must have slipped through the net like I did, alot of my friends and family were on o2 and they lost their texts after a month. Just keep using them as long as they allow you to0

If you've got credit, your texts will keep the phone live. Dial * # 10 # [SEND] (as if making a call) to get your remaining credit displayed.0

If you text BALANCE to 20202 it will send you one back with any allowances you have active at the moment.David
