Visa is going to change its logo!

hmmm... well I cant see the banks rushing to adopt this, bearing in mind the amount of money they have just spent reissuing Chip and Pin cards out to the general public.

I suspect there will be no great launch by the banks that issue VISA cards, they will just update their card design, when they are due to get a new batch produced and start issuing them out for new recruits and reissue of cards only.

I actually work for a CC Company that issue VISA cards, first ive heard of it, and we certainly havent had any circulars relating to this, looking forward to going into work tomorrow to hear our Marketing/ branding people's reaction, - doubt they are going to be happy - it's not cheap and its time consuming rebranding cards etc (been there done that (o; ) - ho hum, like someone said the design agencies are going to be rubbing their hands together yet again lol

I don't think the banks the world over will be expected by Visa to reissue new Visa cards in exchange for their existing cards. Even Visa, with its duopoly (in combination with Mastercard) cannot armtwist the banks to such an extent.

I think, to start with, this will purely be targeted at prospective customers who're going in for a new card and are choosing between a Visa and a Mastercard. Also, I think, more than luring customers for the look and feel factor, this is an overall Corporate branding exercise, and this aspect is targetted at both retail card customers as well as banks which act as distribution channels for Visa.

Now, you're obviously joking. Such an exercise would have to be a global one, and no single country can be exempt from the rebranding exercise.

It'll be years before everyone has a card carrying that logo.

As for those that don't like it, things change. Deal with it. It's only a logo after all, no biggy.
