  • Flipping eck! That's a list and a half!

I did most of my getting ready yesterday (have family staying from today until the 27th:eek:).
    Already today I have...
    • Walked the dog
    • Hoovered right through the house
    • Dusted whole house
    • Sorted the bins
    • Quick tidy of back garden
And still to do before they arrive in about 2 hours...
    • Put clean towels out for them
    • Clean wooden floors (always last as dog dirties them instantly again with paw prints)
    • Clean the guest bathroom
    • Have a bath
    • Dry hair, apply lashings of make up to make me look human and find something casual yet smartish to wear
    • Wrestle with bathroom blind
    • Quick tidy of kitchen
    • Grin and bear the next few days!:A
Right better get on with it!

Hope everyone eventually relaxes and has a lovely Xmas

    4) quick drink with friends
    5) afternoon Mass
    6) drive home for Christmas
    7) long drink with parents. Will they feed me? :D

  • today is our xmas dinner, so there is much cooking, basting and table-setting :) So far my actual involvement has been to fetch one chair from upstairs and fold seven napkins since I seemed to be the only one out of those assembled who could follow the online instructions! Apart from that, I am awaiting instructions from the kitchen......

  • Right time for an update - hubby not home yet, he didn't take car today as work have stopped paying for car park so managed to get one of the drivers who takes van home to give him a lift in and should be giving him a lift home, and he still has to feed himself ( he goes out just before 6am and cannot eat then), have a shave ( should have done that last night) and change......oh he has just walked through the door....so he better get his skates on, oh well he can fall asleep during the film if he wants lol.

[STRIKE]Get ready for going out[/STRIKE] - sorted out what I am going to wear, had to be suitable for afternoon and dinner out, clothes and jewelary ready to be put on
Make -up ( something I rarely wear so always takes time as forever stabbing my eyes with mascara )
    Nag hubby to get ready
Go and buy DIL her present - going to garden centre they are expensive but they do the most wonderful gifts ( maybe they will have started their sale fingers crossed)

Sitting having one of said cups of tea - how did I manage to do things when I had 3 children round about or even one grandchild, dogs getting in the way are enough......mind not got on out on Christmas Eve for anything except shopping since having first child ( 35 years ago )

Can't decide should I use gold bag or silver - am wearing gold sling backs - when I was growing up bags and shoes had to manage but granddaughter tells me this is not so now, but she is 12 anyone any advice? I go out so rarely don't want to mess up.

Hope everyone is keeping on track, remember take deep breaths regularly and let it out slow main thing kids have their presents, then food and rest if there is time..........closed doors on rooms that guests will not go into are wonderful things dump everything in them, so what the kids can only walk a small path to their bed, so long as they can reach them its ok, tomorrow they will be in living room bright and early anyway and you can sort it all once Christmas is over while they are all playing happily :rotfl::rotfl: with their new toys :rotfl::rotfl:

    bye for now

  • It's already Christmas Day here in New Zealand, so a very Merry Christmas to you all! :D I've got a service to sing in at 10am, then going to my cousin's for a barbecue lunch as it is summer here. We've just finished Midnight Mass and it was pretty hot inside the cathedral! The service was marvellous though. :)
