do you use pot puri (SP?)? You could put a few bits in with it, if the smell compliments it.0
-
dry them in a low oven for pot pourri or to add to christmas decorations.0
-
Dry them and use them for firelighters [if you have a fire or woodburner of course].0

Peel off the zest with a vegetable peeler.
Freeze in a tub to keep, and add strips to beef stews etc also risotto - doesn't make it taste of orange but does deepen flavour.0 -
Put some in a bowl on a radiator for an air freshener.Kondo'ed 76 items from wardrobe, 4 carrier bags of books0

We make our own marmalade which we like with large amount of peel in it. If you're a marmalade maker you can shred it up and freeze it until it's needed for your next batch of marmalade or put it in a glass jar and store it with some sugar added to it. When you need it, throw it into the marmalade cooking mixture.0

Hi,
You could make candied peel. There's a couple of links further up in the old part of this thread. I made some the other week from a pile of orange peel left over from making juice. I juiced 2 big bags of oranges I got for £2 and got 1 litre of juice plus about a kilo of candied peel! You don't get that with Tropicana
I also dry out any citrus peel I have in the airing cupboard. It smells nice in there, or you can put it in a dish somewhere on the side once dry. I second drying it on top of a woodburning stove if you have one - smells delicious. It also makes a great firelighter (I've tried it!)
Something else that hasn't been mentioned is to grind up the dried peel and use it in homemade soap and in facial and body scrubs. Just a little bit in soap or it will be too scratchy.
I also have a vague memory of using dried orange peel in making mulled wine. Can anyone chime in on that? I'm sure I used it but it was several years ago now :beer:0
