Lemon pepper is American isnt it, I used to use it when we lived there. I've never found it here either.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

i have just eaten a couple of the oranges, and thinking what a waste to throw the peel.
whats the best way to store it to use in baking at a later date???
it just smells so lovely........
should i grate it and freeze it or just dry it out.

I love the smell of orange peel so I'd like to know too! Maybe a dish of it drying in the bedroom/living room?

I used to put it in a bowl on top of the radiator. as it dried it would give out a lovely scent, and after it dried it would continue to smell nice for a little while. Bit like pot pourri i supposed but without the sickly smell.0

I'm guessing you should be able to grate it before freezing for baking?0

can i freeze the peel as it is or will go off or manky in there???0

I would freeze the peel untill you have enough, then make up some orange vodka
, just pour vodka over some orange peel in kilner jar and leave to rest for a month or two, I have tried this with a few things and they all taste great xx

You could try making candied peel. It's quite easy and much nicer than that from the supermarket.
I've done it using orange, lemon and grapefruit.
It goes well into Christmas cake, pudding and mincemeat, and is delicious dipped in chocolate as an after dinner nibble.

Hi all,
Apologies if there is already a thread but I couldn't find it.
I have loads of orange peels from the numerous oranges I have eaten this morning (I'm on a diet ).
What can I do with them? I've tried repelling cats with them but it didn't work- even my own cat wasn't too bothered!
