My son wants one primarily for an XBMC media player, once he has played with that the he intends to use it to learn how to program it for other uses.
I get the T-shirt....0 -

Schools already have lots of desktops - you can learn to program on those.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that[/redtitle](house of lords debate, talking about Cameron)0 -
To me, in the Western world, it's all hype and pointless. If it works in the 3rd world countries then hats off to all concerned.0

Wow, i would have been so excited to get one of these as a kid. We need to kick off children's interest in electronics/computing again in this country or we are going to get left behind. I had my Amiga A500 to do this... Sadly the modern PC isn't really as inspirational
Personally, i'd want it as a cheap 'internet TV box'. Hook it up to a wireless trackpad+keyboard and my TV and you've got a good little plaything.
However, as my kids get older I'd want to get the gertboard and build their own LOGO robot with it
