Making a claim on your insurance won't affect the cashback but it will increase the premium.
It is still worth shopping around for the insurance - you can buy Home and Contents Insurance from two separate companies (again through Quidco) and got two lots of cashback. (LLoyds TSB were offering a comparable amount a few months back of £120 cashback per policy.)0 -
Can you still get the money back if you pay by DD?

I use Firefox browser, what should I be doing about cookies, before/after buying through Quidco? What are cookies exactly?
Thanks

cookies are small files stored on the hard drive and quidco use them to enable transactions to be tracked. You should clear your cookies before you log into quidco so that when you click through a link it is tracked as a quidco referral. When getting the insurance the second time make sure you clear your cookies again otherwise the second transaction probably won't track.

just out of interest - has anyone who has submitted an enquiry to quidco re untracked transaction which then gets ''sent to merchant'' ever actually had the said merchant pay the quidco bonus - i've had quite a few transactions which didnt track which just sit in the enquiries column - thanks0

Take care here, some of the ones I looked at (can't remember if Barclays was one of 'em) asked you to ring and arrange a quote if you put that you'd made a claim in the last year. And, of course, we all know to get the Quidco cashback the transaction has to be completed wholly online.0 -

Interesting you say that, I rent a room during the week which has a talk talk connection. I tried to purchase prudential car insurance using quidco and on the final screen, you could see at the bottom the page was 99% loaded, and it was trying to load 'tradedoubler' which is obviously the affiliate network used between quidco and prudential.
I opened up the source code of the page, found the tradedoubler link and tried calling it repeatively for minutes on end until it said the page was loaded.
I think talktalk doesn't like some websites, ebay is one of them. I suspect tradedoubler is another site which never loads or runs slooooowly.
I must have waited over 5 minutes for the page to load and be confident that the tradedoubler link was called - which basically tells me tradedoubler know i purchased the insurance, which means quidco will know, which means it tracks.
It may be interested to know if other talk talk users are having problems with tracking. If people don't let talk talk load the pages completely on e-commerce screens, they risk tradedoubler (in this scenerio) not being contacted, which means no quidco tracking.0 -
I'm not on talk talk (I'm on ntl) but I have the same problem with tradedoubler and most of the time the pages do not load. In fact in november one of my links I could access did not track and I had to query (eventually getting 1/2 of cashback). I did contact quidco but nothing they have suggested so far has solved this problem. I have had to resort to accessing quidco at work in my dinnerhour.:mad:0
