PCN "parking contravention"

I was to meet someone in Harry Ramsden's car park in Glasgow as it was half way between us. The night before our meeting, there was a massive fire and roads were blocked off, resulting in me having to wait about half an hour before they arrived. I never left the car, so technically I didn't 'park' it. I received a parking contravention notification asking me for £150! Do I have to pay it? The car was certainly in the car park - but so was I!

Welcome to MSE!
Unless the 'PCN' was a real one form a Council, then YOU DID NOT GET A FINE!!!
If it's a private 'ticket' then it's a scam, do NOT 'appeal' as it will just be an admission of who was driving (which they currently do not know...could be anyone with a licence and car insurance, even me - not just named drivers on your own policy).
Read the sticky threads by Crabman (at the top) and watch the Watchdog video linked in 'welcome, please read before posting':

Don't even consider taking this fake PCN seriously!
There is no comeback if you ignore it, just threatogram letters sent to the registered keeper (scans of the letters are in the top sticky 'PPC letters, what to expect' under various private parking companies - PPCs to us here - they all use the same types of letters). So look at both the sticky threads I have mentioned and watch the Watchdog video asap.
Do not take the bait, do not respond. File it and all the threats, and they will just give up. All hot air, do not even THINK about paying the scammers.
HTH and Merry Christmas!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Ignore this nasty little scam. I ignore Mickey Mouse 'fines' from Private Parking Contractors on a regular basis. So far none have had the guts to take me to court, a pity as I would relish a chance to give them a bloody nose.Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!0

£150 straight in who the hell was that?
"Creative Car Parking" bl00dy charge is certainly creative! Or "Civil Enforcement"
