I once haggled for a t-shirt in bali - afterwards i realised i was haggling over about 20p which to me was nothing but to the seller 2 months after the bomb was probably the difference between his family eating that night or starving.

Only time i've felt funny about trying to get a decent deal.
  • On a recent cinema visit with a couple of friends I noticed a hair at the top of the screen for the adverts and the whole of the feature.

When I left I mensioned it to the staff outside and after a short 'haggle' they disappeared off to chat to the manager. They came back with grin on their face but were kind enough to give us all a full refund for the tickets.

Not dented but still soup - My father in law gave us some soup that he had in his cupboard while he was a student - my husband ate it and didn't suffer any ill effects.

By the way, my father in law is retired!!!!!!!!
    All credit cards paid off.

In Malaysia in 2003 me and a friend spent 40 minutes haggling with a taxi driver over 20 pence. The money was'nt an issue it just seemed the done thing to haggle for everything!!! :rotfl:

  • I was dealing with a company 'down south' and the bill + the VAT calculated to £97.52 and a half - which the company rounded up to £97.53. As a joke I said that as I came from Scotland I would round it down. I sent off the cheque for the £97.53 (The FULL amount) and when the receipt came their was a penny stuck to it with a note saying that "They could not sleep at night worrying about it!". - Result, and drinks all round!!
Cheers to the company for their excellent sense of humour.
