Try 'Imunet Project'. It is a cloud-based A/V and is quite good at trapping this sort of thing. Btw, fyi, I have not had this on my PC or laptops yet and am running Kaspersky ISS.
Just a thought, but if you have access to another PC, download and burn 'UBCD4Windows' (you will need a Windows XP disc to hand as part if the build process.
Boot from this and run all the malware removal tools and A/V software. As it is on a CD it is immune to the virus and can even clean-out files that are normally locked by Windows as part of the boot process.Never Knowingly Understood.

Thanks for all the help. Managed to run malwarebytes but the thing still keeps coming up. Think I will have to pay someone to have a look at it for me after Xmas.:o
I assume you managed to update malwarebytes ok... maybe the malware it's a new variation.
Maybe download and run combofix if possible although it might be a wee bit tricky cos you will have to try uninstall of any virus checker first in safe mode which may or may not work. Alternatively see if you can download a removal tool from your anti antivirus's website.0 -
Same problem. Switch computer off. Switch it back on, but disconnect your telephone line as it is loading. Since it appears the virus only works when you are connected to the internet, you can prevent your computer linking to the internet. In my case a small white square appeared, but I was able to use all of the functions of the computer, so I reset it to the previous day. Problem solved.0

Start run type MSCONFIG
Startup tab
You will find the startup has one or two odd programs untick and PC should start .
.07864488 is a wrong startup type of entry
Removing the start-ups will stop it running but not remove it .

It is called "Restore". I went, "Windows Help and Support", typed in "Restore point", clicked on "Click to open System Restore", and followed the instructions.
Note: I only had to restore it to the previous day because I sorted out the problem withi a couple of hours of getting it. You will have to restore it to the day before you got the virus.0 -
