Existing Virgin Broadband Customers Price decrease without telling us!!

I have been a customer with Virgin for 4 years since they took over from blueyonder in 2007.

I called them up to check how much it would be to add television and in the process found out that i am on the 10MB package paying £18 which at the moment retails for £13.50.

I was furious a loyal customer of 4 years paying more than what the package is worth. I understand that new customers need a hook and a deal to start with but this was a 3-month for £4 a month!

I asked for the floor manager who told me the package had been retailing at the cheaper rate since March, 9 months ago!

i did the math and said they owe me £5 x 9months = £45 they said the most they could give me as a good will gesture is £20 free credit which i accepted and will call them back in January to see what other deals i can get as apprently new deals are on their way....

to anyone who has been with Virgin for longer than 9 months make sure you are not paying £18 a month for a £13.50 worth package or ask for a refund!!!

:money:

good luck!

Prices change all the time, and it it always prudent that consumers always review their costs and act accordingly. You will find that price price did not actually go down, as this would have meant the customer would have benefitted immediately, but a package change with the arrival of a new tariff. Itr is up to the customer to identify the better package and seek a change, this may (in fact, usually does) result in a restart of the 12 month minimum service period, so not ideal for all.

Do you have VM phone line as well? £13.5 is the price if you have that. Otherwise it's £21.
