Congratulations. Posts such as this will keep the rest of us going :) Another at 10 or so year to go for me but at leasts its not the 24 it would otherwise be.
  • Just read the whole thread and wanted to say well done.

We're hoping to be in the same position in about 3 years. At times it seems tough for us (well it does for my OH, not having much doesn't really bother me), but I know it'll be worth it in the end.

The one thing that keeps me going is the thought of having that same feeling you have at the minute, that the mortgage is gone :T

    Well done

Just looked at my online statement and my mortgage is showing I'm in credit by £42.49p. So it looks like that's it, no more mortgage.

Glad some people have been inspired to continue on the mortgage free route with the help of some of my posts, just wish I'd started the diary earlier as there seems no downside to my MFW journey but there were a few along the way but we stuck at it and now we can sit back and relax.

So good luck to the rest of you MFW your day WILL come, I'll keep reading this sub-forum and keep a watch on your journey's.

Off now to stop my standing order overpayments and cancel my DD to the building society.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

  • Just found this thread, massive well done hot ice...

I too am overpaying and thanks to MSE, have been since day 1. Think I have about 6 years to go which seems so far away, but having just had a little girl, its great knowing that by the time she is six, we'll be mortgage free :):):)

    Well done again OP!!!

If you find my posts useful, "pay it forward" and help someone else out, that's how places like MSE can be so successful.
