Well done Hot-Ice. 5 more payments and then things get a lot more fun. Joined the 'club' myself 2 months ago, and however you think you'll feel, it ends up being even better !

Fingers crossed the motor holds up for a while longer :)

And so it continues, just looked online and our mortgage is as follows,

4 more payments as of today.

    123 days to go. :j

Total to pay off the mortgage £3241.72

My partners car passed the MOT last week with no advisories :D

My 4X4 is still going, although a new fault appeared last week, when the headlights are on, the motor on the OS/drivers side headlamp that adjust the headlight beam (when towing) has decided to move the headlamp beam up and down all by itself and constantly, easy fix just disconnect it, the motor not the headlamp.

    .

suddenly for one months payment you realise that your term has been reduced by two months, but now, one normal and one overpayment reduces the term by 4 months.

thats a really good way of looking at it :) .... good luck and enjoy your new found freedom ... i too am having car issues and have been out looking but thankfully stepped away from the debt trap just in time :o it couldve been painful

Congratulations. There is hope for me yet . . . my car is 7 years old and we aim to pay off the mortgage in 10 years, hopefully (like yours) my car will last that long :rotfl:, as I intend to run it into the ground!

My car has just hit the 18 year mark this year, youtube for a guide on how to do minor repairs is very useful, just try to keep on top of faults etc and most cars will run and run. Good luck with the mortgage 10 years seems a long time as ours did but..............25 years is much longer!

Congrats and - well done you!

It's good feeling. We nearly got there back in 2005... and then decided to buy a holiday home.... :o

Now working hard and aiming to clear the 'new' mortgage in 4 years time. Doable but very very tight and provided that there are no surprises on the way....

Fingers crossed I don't have to renew my 14 year old car before then! :rotfl:

3 more payments as of today :j

    93 days remaining :j

    £2402.30 remaining. :j

No more car issue's this month, all running well but will start to prepare it for it's MOT this month.

Getting all excited now, starting to look at a replacement vehicle even if mine passes the MOT. Still no idea how we are going to celebrate, possible hiking holiday somewhere in the world.
