    I should've been more specific

Do i go to Amazon - who i bought through
Do i go to Yodel - who are incompetent

    Amazon.

You have no contract with Yodel.
  • It would be worth contacting the depot direct.

I had a parcel sent with HDNL. I got fed up of it sitting in the depot for 3 consecutive days, that I decided to phone.
It meant I had to go and collect, but it ensured I actually got the parcel. It was put to one side for me.

If you google Bam Bridge, it comes up as Bamber Bridge Preston. Does that seem correct? If so ring 01772 330093. I fine the depots far more helpful than the call centre, and no phone queuing.

I've had two tracked parcels from Amazon today.

On speaking to my postman - They are tracked but not signed for and the postman are not meant to return them to the depot. He was unsure what he was meant to do with them if I wasn't in.

It sounds like a confusing system and no one really knows what to do.

The system isn't confusing. It's just a confused postman who obviously doesn't know the correct procedure that they should be following.
If tracked mail can't be delivered then a card should be left and the item should be returned to the RM delivery depot.

We'll Keep it safe for you.
If we can't deliver the mail you sent, we'll leave a 'Something for you' card at the delivery address. This shows the address and opening hours of the local delivery office, so whoever you've sent mail to, can go and collect it.

We make every effort to make sure your mail arrives safely, so we'll keep it for three weeks (one week if you sent it by Recorded Signed For™, two weeks if it’s Royal Mail Tracked®). After that, we'll return it to you if you put your address on the outside, and we'll attach a sticker explaining why we couldn't deliver it.

    Yeah that area seems correct.

However as i told the chap on the phone - i've not long had an operation & am struggling on crutches. I'm not allowed to drive. I'm physically unable to drive right now anyway.

This "tried delivery" is a load of crap. It's an excuse. I don't live in the middle of nowhere. I live on the main road near a motorway junction. That makes my house one of the easiest in the country to get to.

Yodel seem to have a bad habit: Taking a parcel that is still in the depot and marking it as delivered (or marking it as delivered when they hand it over to one of their independant drivers possibly if the signature is "HDNL"). It shows up as with mine they marked it delivered in one second after it being marked as "out for delivery".

At the moment most areas seem to be overwhelmed.

I'm not unreasonable - i do appreciate this fact.
However i don't accept crap. I wont be lied to! If the item was loaded onto the vehicle then it gets delivered that day, not when the driver feels like delivering it if he/she can be bothered.

As i say, i must live in one of the easiest houses to get to in the entire country, so if the delivery driver can operate a steering wheel and a map/sat nav/has any sense of direction, then they should be able to make it here.

I agree K_P83. I really wouldn't have cared if it did take 2 weeks to get to me (in my case I ordered it before the end of November so I'd allowed for that) but the lying annoyed me too.

My annoyance is more with the management who 1) accept far too many deliveries from the retailers knowing they likely don't have time to do them and 2) allow/encourage potentially false reporting to keep the retailers happy. I really can't see that they don't know parcels are getting marked as delivered when actually they haven't when it seems to be a common theme.

I can see its also annoying if it stays on the vehicle for a while that can also be frustrating if you take time to be at home to receive it.

Item arrived today. Funny how 2nd time round is often better.

Email sent off to Amazon telling them i'd be considering who i purchase through in future if they're going to rely on Yodel.
