How can I get my laptop to fax things?

Can this be done? I have broadband and I remember when I had dial-up I could fax things...can this be done somehow with a download or other jiggery-pokery...sorry not very technical

You can still use a dial-up modem to fax things while you're on ADSL broadband - just like you can surf and talk on the phone at the same time.

Its done through the modem not BBand... have you hooked up the internal modem to the phone socket ??

It should work. See How to Troubleshoot "No Dial Tone" Issues in Windows XP. You obviously have to connect the modem to the phone socket.0
