How can I get my laptop to fax things?

Can this be done? I have broadband and I remember when I had dial-up I could fax things...can this be done somehow with a download or other jiggery-pokery...sorry not very technical

You can still use a dial-up modem to fax things while you're on ADSL broadband - just like you can surf and talk on the phone at the same time.

It is coming up with no dial tone-does that mean it cant be done with broadband

have you plugged it into the phone side of the filter?

Its done through the modem not BBand... have you hooked up the internal modem to the phone socket ??

It should work. See How to Troubleshoot "No Dial Tone" Issues in Windows XP. You obviously have to connect the modem to the phone socket.

Thanks guys...I have NTL broadband...so I think that will affect me being able to send things wont it?

We have ntl/cable broadband...I dont think there is a filter to be honest

Ah! Not possible with cable broadband. See bottom of that MS faxing page I posted.
