Hello everyone, this is my first post on this thread and I'll need to have a read back but I've loved the doggy pics and chat I've spotted so far.
Sooo I'm hoping this is the right place to ask.....The lovely biiiiig Bells steak pies from Mister T's....very popular for new year, my Tesco had lots left tho last night, so I checked and the date on them is the 6th (tomoro) I'm trying to figure out when they'll be reduced, do you think it's usually the night before? If so I'm thinking about heading over around 9pm tonight.
Thanks in advance x

I bought some jus-rol sweet shortcrust pastry, and a tin if cherries..... but I never bake, so I need advice please.
Do I just roll the pastry out fill it with the cherries (without any liquid?) then put a pastry lid on it, and pop it in the oven. Looking at the instructions (which aren't for cherry pie!) it doesn't look like I have to blind bake it first without the cherries in?
Thanks to the OP on the pastry deal. it was whoopsied down to 25p, and went through at buy one get one free. I also got whoopsied finest custard for 25p. Would have been a cheap pud without the cherries!
you do not need to bake blind

Many thanks Mrsfrugal for the chicken find and also to Miss Laid for her picture as I was able to find them easily because of this :j:j:j. Muller worked a treat as well so thanks to the OP that found that one.
Wally that I am put the two transactions together so confused CS when querying chicken as the two discounts had come off for the muller. They asked could they scan one of my mullers and worked out what had happened, thought it would affect my chicken but it didnt and was given £4 without any prompt required :T.
Wish I had more room in my freezer to stock up on the chickens though0 -
KADISON -- Sending you hugs & lots of get well wishesForgot to add that the muller worked in Newport and also had a 55p bogof and couldn't figure out what it was, checked receipt again and it was my woopsie pastry!
Thank you to the original OP on the muller.
Thank you very much fot the tip-off on the pastry. I had to hand around for 15mins whilst the SA marked down 100 pots of custard ebfore doing the pastry, but worth it in the end. I would have got more, but my freezer is full!HappyChappy84 wrote: »What's the difference between a slow cooker and a crock-pot?
Crock-pot is one of the makes/brands of slow cooker.....and actually that was the one I decided to buy. Half price in T's today (and on T's direct as well)
There is also a T's own brand slow cooker, which is £5 less.0 -
you may want to add some sugar and a small amount of kirsch (cherry liqueur) to your cherries put the top on then cut two lines in the top to allow pie to breath , then use milk to brush top of the pastry
you do not need to bake blindlife is like a loo roll. the nearer the end you get, the faster it goes.0 -

Oh yes I always keep kirsch in
I have Barcardi, Vodka or Caramel Vodka ...no kirsch ...also no milk!
I could brush the top with water & sugar maybe?
Good idea about the lines in the top, thank you.0 -

you could brush the top with beaten egg and then sprinkle a wee bit of sugar on the top :-)I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards.
