Just let me say, my DS hated homework, was special needs for a few years and crap at spelling as dyslexic and look at my news today;)Can you speak to his teacher and explain the problems? thats what I did. And don't worry too much about secondary school now, Trust me you'll be shocked how he'll cope then:)

Thanks Nikki, congrats for your son

have spoken to teachers every year and have explained his problem,

his P4 teacher didn't want to know

his P5 teacher :A was fantastic and we worked out that writing the words down a number of times worked for the ones who had previously struggled

his P6 class was a job share but they had a few teachers due to illnesses and deaths in their families, the subs didn't have time to help the ones who had sturggled so the parents had to step in

This year I haven't been able to speak to the teacher yet as she's so busy I can't get an appointment with her

He also has behavioural problems and can't handle when things don't go the way they're supposed to so starts to rant or cry or if someone breaks a rule he'll tell but doesn't understand why the teacher then tells him off for telling tales
the teachers say there's nothing wrong with him as both myself and DH have asked because we were worried that maybe he was dislexic like his dad and that was why he was struggling but they just say he's smart but also very lazy.
    Sorry for the rant

For the butter - I popped 2 of the tubs into a big bowl and whisk on high until the whisks are almost "seized" and you think what the hell its all gone wrong, but a minute later it suddenly goes all "slack" (Stop tittering at the back!!") add salt if needed now (dont add salt if freezing) quickly turn off the whisk and drain the liquid off (its buttermilk if you want to use it for other things) then add about half a mug of ice cold water either whisk (be careful as its very splattery) or kneed do this 3-4 times until the water isnt milky then squeeze the water out and freeze/pop in the fridge

    Simplez :)

Thank you so much for this, gonna kill 2 birds with one stone, make butter then use the buttermilk to make some Irish soda bread:j

Just skimmed through the last 30 pages or so, havent been on since yesterday morning so good afternoon everyone
Firstly hope those who are feeling poorly are feeling better soon
Nikki congrats to your son, you must be so proud!!
Thanks to those for your messages regarding kids granda, funeral is tomorrow......just wish it was over for them both. Took them out to the house last night, DS was so mature about everything, was very proud of how he handled all the visitors so well even though I knew it was killing him. DD was fine until she saw her wee nanny, she ran from the room and I found her in her bedroom there bawling, she said she couldnt handle it and wanted to leave and not go to the funeral:(. Managed to get her calmed and one of her aunts came and cuddled her as well. Her dad tried to help but hes falling apart too. Its as well I have a decent relationship with the ex and his family as she wouldnt leave my side. Dunno how she'll be tomorrow but Im not planning on much sleep tonight, ended up in her bed with her for a while last night! Its weird cuddling a 15 yr old whos taller than me, like a baby but they both are my babies no matter how big or old they are, just wish I could help with their pain. Sorry for the long post and being completely o/t but needed to share with someone :)
