We do a joint of beef in our slow cooker and it's absolutely gorgeous, but yesterday I did a casserole with diced beef and it's a bit tough and chewy, hopefully a night in the fridge will help .
Wouldn't be without it now so if your contemplating getting one do it. Ingredients in in the morning put it on slow and when you come home from work a lovely cooked meal.
how long do you put it on for would like to get one of these so dinners are ready when i get in from work thanks :)

Thanks for all the slow cooker advice, you have all convinced me to get one!

I did see the cheap Argos one, but the capacity is only 1.5 L, so I'll go for one of the bigger ones I think.

I do mine for around 6 hrs on high or 10 hrs on med, if you are out longer it doesn't tend to spoil if its on for a few hours longer

Must get back into the slow cooker thing. That will probably come when I work out when my local puts its whoopsies out. They reduce meat slightly at about lunch time. But not really very far. By 7pm they're all gone. So next attempt will be at about 5pm ish.

^put in the stock to just below the top of the meat, add an onion chopped in thick slices put the meat on top , and chuck a few potatoes and carrots in.

Dunno why we ( the mrs ) puts potatoes and carrots in tho as we don't eat them . Lol
