Snap! :T:o DD wants to play scrabble, I am trying to summon enough energy.

Good luck with that ;) lol

In my defence I have made a list of the stuff we need from T's for Christmas dinner, which is pretty much everything :o well apart from the bird, that's in the freezer!

OMG the trauma of Ts on christmas eve eve!! It was rammed !! Found probably every item ever listed on MSE....all scanning full price or higher price than we want it to be!! Found the conical glasses...now 89p each  found the Thomas duvets but only bought one....lots left...and an Ocean In My Pocket set of newborns for 50p...not as cheap as other have got but it kept the kids quiet for a bit :)

whoopsies were rubbish....so all in all a pretty pointless visit...hoping tonights trip for whoopsies at a different store will be more beneficial!!!
hoping for a very MSE Ts glitching 2012!

Pork shoulder joint worked like a charm. I picked up two joints and walked out with them for free. Also turned out that there were a few other meat items reduced as well.

When I got home the pork was cut up into appropriately sized portions......and now I can't get much more in my freezer. Thank you so much to the spotter.

Will have to pop in later, freezer will be empty after Xmas, pork could fill a nice spot in there.

According to my MIL who worked for years in the lingerie dept in M&S, they had so many claims for new washing machines due to bra wires coming out, that their labels were all changed to hand wash only.

Exactly. I have used the bra washing bags ever since this happened and they do eventually fall apart themselves, but Lakeland has a lifetime guarentee on all of their products, so I just return them and get some more for free :D
It was really horrible when her house burnt down as she had all 4 of her children living with her at the time and SIL and first grandchild :( Both of her cats went missing after the fire as they ran out of the house when the fire started. They did eventually turn back up, but one had got burnt and had to go the vets (their ok now though thank god :T)
She was out at the time, but her SIL and one of her DS's were in the house, but luckily got out and no-one got hurt.
This was only abt a mth before xmas and she also only had minimal house insurance so couldn't afford to replace everything she lost and lost all of her family pics and momentos of her childrens younger years :(
The red cross were brilliant though and found a house that was up for rent in the same street and they helped her move in there within a few days, where she stayed until her house was completely rebuilt.
Don't want to bring people down a few days before xmas, but would hate to see this happen to anyone else.

Did that late last night, only second person I've ever needed to put on ignore in all the years I've been on mse :(

It's a shame that anyone needs to be put on an ignore list, but at least it stops them upsetting you :(

Correct, I was a Mod in the 80's revival.

Here's the trends in order ( please fill in if I miss any)

    1. Teddy Boys
    2. Rockers
    3. Mods
    4. Suedeheads
    5. Skinheads
    6. Hippies
    7. Glam Rock
    8. Punks
    9. Goths
    10. New Romantics
    11. Trendies/Casuals
    12. Ravers
    13. Grunge
I see our discussion from last night is still going on:)

I find it difficult from memory to put things in chronological order as many "cults" overlap or can run simultaneously or even with some aficionados never go away:)

Just going back to last nights theme my recollection of the mods/rockers thing was that they were simultaneous but conflicting cultures. So much so that it led to the violent riots and conflicts that came to a head on the south coast in places like Margate and Brighton in 1963/64 I think.

Suedeheads followed skinheads as I remember although there was also the "crewcut" fashion in the late fifties at the same time as early mods/rockers.

Just for the record I was a mod (but never owned a fishtail parka or a Lambretta scooter) and then a hippie. Still a closet hippie so what came and went after that passed me by:rotfl:
