Hi everyone,
I found this amazing thread a couple of weeks ago but have been a bit too shy to say hello! I have been following carefully though to try and pick up some hints and tips. Well, today I was successful so really wanted to come and say thanks. I manged to find some 1p vegetable crisps (took all 4 packs to share with my Mum who loves them!) and the 1p green tea. I only took one of these and there were loads left. So a big thank you to everyone here. And I can see this becoming very addictive!!0 -
The queues at the normal tills were stupidly long so I was at SS. The SA there said she'd need to check so off she toddled to who I can only presume was the checkout supervisor. She finally came back but walked past me without saying a word and went to CS. From there I heard someone being paged and finally after a good 5 minutes they came back and said I couldn't use them. Told them that was fine, remove the items from the bill and I'll use them in Asda. I wasn't at SS to use them fraudulently so wasn't worried when they wanted to check them. I'll bet any money if I'd gone to a till they would have been accepted no problem. It's not like I have software to sit and create phoney coupons at home.
That is so true. I hate the inconsistency in acceptance of coupons, makes me . In fact it got so bad at one point I emailed Uncle Phil, with a link to the coupon that I was trying to use, and they told me it was fine. You want to have seen the SA's face when she refused it the next time I was and I showed her the email! Was a picture :rotfl:
Even CS tried to tell me that they didn't take them, but she would honour them on this occassion. Erm, if you don't accept them, why would you honour them  silly trout! :rotfl::rotfl:
Granted this was probably 3 or 4 months ago and I haven't really had any issues since, but I'm always wary when I go with my coupons.
It's just so annoying that the policy can apparently be so different from one store to the next....those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.

A large transit van hit black ice and hit him head on, pushed him over the embankment and through a hedge. Well, not a bad trip out to 2 of D*nd33's many Tescos.
Sarf Rd had nothing nice on the clip strips that I could see, but I got a nice DTD from 2 packs of Disney fairies happy families. SEL said RTC and 30p. Scanned at £2.97 - result. Thought about taking all 3 of them, but left 1 on the strip as proof as the barcodes didn't match right. The description was right though.
K*way had Harry's nuts (1 pack), caramelised cashews (1 pack), iron cleaning pads (1 pack), and loads of the kettle descalers and coffee machine cleaning packs and fly stickers, of which I left at least as many as I took, so worth a look. Also in this store a DTD opportunity on the Duracell battery packs currently £4.99 bogof, but there are clipstrips by the toothpaste and dotted around the homewares saying £4.47 & bogof, so a small saving if you were getting them anyway(cost £3.95 after dtd).
It's only a game
