i was really cross about it. The return point was only a 5 min walk from my house as well
It was still cheaper to get the train and bus back again, and that was £90
talking of priority boarding- we still managed to get the extra legroom seats without it :-D)I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. Important buying an all inclusive car hire package when going to USA, they'll only get you to take out the other insurances once you arrive, tired & hot.
Also don't forget, and I always do, check the car for any stratches & dents before you drive off, only accept an upgrade if its free, book a suitable size car for your passengers & luggage, if they is only two of you a smallish car will do, get a 4 door easier to put luggage on the back seat if it won't all fit in the boot(trunk).
Put driving licence at top of your packing list, I forgot mine one holiday, my friend had to do all the driving & sulked most of the time as if I'd done it on purpose ! also if she wanted to go to bed early I had to stay in
When we went to NZ we hire a car from rent a wreck and paid the additional insurance. It was a basic car, but we weren't really bothered until we were going down the other side of Arthurs pass and the breaks nearly went completely. Managed to stop eventually got out and smoke was pouring off front wheels and the discs were glowing :eek: Oh what funSomething unexpected happened which made me smile and still continues to make me smile.

I take out an annual car hire excess policy, it's much cheaper then what the car hire companies offer. It includes all the excess and covers glass, tyres, roof and underbody damage as well.0 -

Could I be added with a guess of £19.23 please? I would add myself but if you'd like to do the honours 3Dogs and keep the list up to date, that would be great. :T
Anyone else obsessed with checking the ebay listing? I confess that's the first thing I did when I logged on to my computer this morning - and I'm one of the watchers... :rotfl:0 -

As a young woman, my great Aunt worked as a maid in an 'Upstairs Downstairs' type of house.
I remember her telling me that when there were decent leftovers from the 'upstairs' dinner table the Lady of the house would send a message to the cook - "put a crust on it, it'll do for the girls" so the downstairs maids regularly had leftovers pie for their dinner. If you're not scared, you're not paying attention0
