I pay cash but only because I need the money back ASAP and can't wait 3 days for it to go back in my bank but if you don't mind then doesn't matter if you use card or cash

Had to nip to Ts for a few bits so as it wasnt busy, I scanned a few clipstrip items but no joy:( DH went to put the stuff back while I had a look in the electricals for OOD SELs, no joy :( BUT as I turned to leave I spotted the white Technika 7" portable dvd player with the man on the front(AW09, b/c13833). There were 4 on the shelf and no sel so scanned them and they came up at...........50p!!!!!! Grabbed 3 for pressies so still one there. Flamin manager seemed to follow us for a while as we got our other bits but never approached us. DH was panicing about paying for them but as we went to SS tills, the lovely wee SA said she would remove the tags while I scanned my other stuff:T:T. Almost had a heart attack paying for the stuff as quickly as possible and getting out :rotfl::rotfl:

Flaming well done Sharon! I take it that was down your way and not up round my way? I'm very impressed.

OK clever pie ladies... going to make my first pie with last night's leftover chicken.

So, a couple of questions if I may:

Should I put pastry on the bottom as well or just make a lid?

I'm using chicken, condensed soup and maybe a handful of sweetcorn - does it all need to be heated up first or will it heat through in the time it takes the pastry to cook?

Should I brush the pastry with egg or something?

Does 30-ish minutes at 180 degrees seem about right?

    Many thanks.

If you have a plate dish, then do a proper pie: top n bottom pastry.

If you only have a casserole dish etc then a pastry lid would be better.

I always do an 'eggy wash' *in voice of Si, the hairy biker*

Timing sounds right. My nose always tells me when my baking is ready which is then confirmed by my eyes then my touch. :)

Don't you dare waste your pie trimmings.

You could do a quick cheese n onion turnover or better yet, make a few tarts. Cut out little circles with a cup as a cutter. Pop em in a cupcake tray and pop a dollop of lemon curd or jam in em!

Oh well. Just checked and according to Google Maps there are 4 stores in C'avon but regardless, I don't think it's worth a 1 hour drive. Shame as it would have been great for DS1 so my dad could watch the TV in peace instead of him taking over the remotes to watch Pixar films!

Not sure where the 4 are but theres one in P'down (normal store), one in Lurgan(normal store) and the C'avon Extra. I live in the middle of the P'down and C'avon ones but use the Extra as it has scanners. Gonna have to google and see where the other one is now:rotfl:

Looks like they're including B'bridge and its in a different county:rotfl:

    Meadow Lane
    Millenium Way
    Highfield Road
    Rushmere

Looking again at the map it seems Meadow Lane is Portadown and Millenium way is Lurgan. I know the best way to get actual stores is the Ts website but was doing a quick check on time & distance to see if it was worth the journey.
