    we've never had to polish it. We bought it about 2 years ago, I don't know what paint it is but it is good.

    it was expensive £1200 but considering it was almost that to get the oil tank filled, we're quids in:j

    When dads arthritis got too bad we changed to oil but it was only like 8p/litre then. 6 months after installing it the price of oil went up, and up and up and has ever since. :(

    I loved the wood burning Rayburn but you could never control the oven temp with any degree of accuracy. I remember one christmas it was sooo wild outside that whatever way the wind was blowing over the chimney it turned the Rayburn into a furnace, parts of it were glowing and mum was cooking the christmas dinner with the oven door open.:rotfl:
