Heated Windscreen

Options
Changed my car last july to a Mondeo Tdi Estate , 06 plate .
Noticed when reading the handbook that both Rear & Front windscreens were heated , Mm i thought , will it be any use ?
Well the Ice nights appeared and when i started up i got a Red Snowflake warning on the dash , then the front & Rear heater lights came on automatically ! WoW ! these things are ace , my screens were clear in 4 mins , this with a thick coat of frost , my old car used to take up to 10 minutes sometimes while i froze to death !
This is the first time i have not used a de-icer on the glass and can only say i am well pleased with the technology :j
:T :T :T :T
A Bast**d I May Be ! I Was Born One !
Whats Your Excuse ?

It's good stuff indeed - about the only thing worth mentioning on my previous focus, even works well with a covering of snow

This is a great feature on Mondeos.

They are great cars full stop.
  • Amen brother! My Fiesta has it and it's standard practice for me in winter months as soon as I start the engine to push the front and rear screen heaters. Not just for ice, excellent for demisting too. Couldn't be without it!

Very good stuff, Ford holds the patent for heated windscreens.

HOWEVER!!!! I would not advise using it prior to very short journey's, for you will eventually find yourself stranded with a dead battery.

I never had one in my Ford Focus mk1. I was careful using rear heated as said they soon drain your battery if you do short journeys

It's a pity they don't license it's use to other manufacturers.

My mate's jag has front and back heated and I was well impressed, as he drove off after a few seconds there was no mist or ice and the windows never steamed up once. Next day in my old Corsa, me with frozen hands scraping the ice and then throughout the whole half an hour journey constantly wiping inside, driving with window open and heater on full directed at windscreen and still finding the side windows steamed and in fact dangerous to drive like it, I swore next car would have something to cure it.
  • Might just be me, but I always find the wires in the screen distracting. Always been a VW girl myself, but a friend has a Mondeo and I really don't like those little wiggly lines!
You had me at your proper use of "you're".
