Both iphone and android have the quidco app now and the check in amount is counted outside of the £5 yearly subscription. ie as long as you have £1.01 accumulated from check-in, you get the money BACS to your account.

Been using it since August and have £5.55 over 5 months by myself. more than £10 from both me and my wife. Free money since we go into town anyway pretty much every week.
How did you amass such an amount?

I've go in every weekend & i've found many appear to be only monthly offers (carphone warehouse, t-mobile, halfords. I was able to do Argos twice in 2 weeks).
I guess it depends on how many shops you're churning up too. There's only about 3-4 here that offer it.

I take it you have a FD current account as well as the FD 8% saving account
You mention ' 2 accounts with santander paying 5%' didn't realise they allowed this ?? how did you manage it ?
    .
I set a £300/month SO up to transfer to my FD "1st account" about 3-4 days before my regular saver anniversary date.
Aside from this, the 1st account only ever has £1 in.
I have an eSaver with them which has £1 only in. I was told i'd need this otherwise there'd be charges on the 1st account.
    Then there's the regular saver.

I can't think of an account touching 8% right now.

Looks like they pulled the £5 offer. I can't see any mention of it now. :(

I thought the first direct one account required a £1500 deposit each month
Do you have 2 santander 5% current accounts as well ?

    Hi
Lady in branch told me either 2 SO's or 2 DD's would be required or you can switch more if you needed. It was a very simple in branch form I had to complete just asked about other account details and also HSBC as I am an existing customer.
I still double check regards the number of SO's required for the switch at your local HSBC to be on the safe side. Don't think the switch can be done online.
If you don't have enough SO's or DD's would it be possible for you to add some to your old/existing account before you switch ?
    Hope this helps

Where I am living, there's not a lot of extra shop really. CPW is the best in terms of check-in. The others here include T-mobile, Disney, Argos, Halford (hasn't had one from them for a long time), bathstore (very occasionaly) and Staples. I check the offers every week to make sure I don't miss them.

HSBC regular savers pay 8%, however, for advance/premier customer only.... Probably not a good option

Ah yes, that rings bells. I cycled £1500 through it for 3 months. This got me £100 joining fee.

    I don't earn £1500 a month you may say.
    Neither do i.

    2x 750
    3x 500
    15x 100

However you'd like to dress it up. It got me my £100.
In out in out, oh the hokey cokey!

I see now how you do it :)

the £1500 a month is fine its just I'm not sure about if I should hold back & wait for another offer to come along. I would have gone for the First Direct 1st account for defo if I'd been entitled to the £100 reward but because I have already been a customer although it was 13 years ago I see the T&C's rule me out for cash back.

A point to note for anyone wanting to open this account -

    The T&Cs say that:
    4. b) You will start to earn the promotional credit
interest within one calendar month of the date that
we receive the correctly completed and signed
    ‘Switching your personal account to HSBC’ form;

    (my bold)

Within one calendar month doesn't (necessarily) mean from the date the account is opened.

So if you are opening an account now (or already have an account), don't put any money into it yet (apart from what's required to cover SOs/DDs) since you won't get any interest for potentially up to a month.

Does anyone know exactly when interest first starts being accrued?

    Very good point.

I was set to go for this but i think i'm going to leave it now. Can't be bothered to go through the application process for them to potentially not be paying any interest on it until 30 days later.

If you only opened it with and kept the £500 in for the first month, even if they don't pay interest for a month, then you'd only be losing a couple of quid (net), thereafter you could transfer the £2,500 and would then be earning the 6% gross.
