  • Today I have hit the milestone of £1k worth of payments since I had my LBM on 09/12/2011 (well my most recent LBM anyway!).

That means as it currently stands I have £6,858.57 worth of debt, which I only need to pay £700 a month on to get it cleared before Christmas. Its going to be harder than it has been in the last month because we are really tightening our belts, but I am feeling positive about the future - have my budget all mapped out and know that we can do it with if we are committed.

I am itching to update my totals from my other CC - I will be able to do it over the weekend as the statements are due. I want to see how much they have gone down by.

  • Hit my second mini challenge today - CC1 balance is now under £1700.

Been sitting this morning doing budgets for the next month. We still want to be able to enjoy life a little so we have left a little room for that but have cut everything else we can. DH and I have also decided that once we are debt free we want to be mortgage free so its not just going to be about 2012, but far beyond that to gain financial freedom.

Will update my totals later once Virgin's online system has cleared the payments I have made.

  • Evening all.

My new barclaycard statement has been produced which means I have been able to update my totals - I have paid off £1301.03 which means I have got rid of 16.52% of my debt, and have £6572.84 of debt left. I wanted to be down to £6500 by the end of January so I am on course.

Have joined a savings thread too - I know that the advice is not to save when you are in debt but I want to keep making my regular savings to create a buffer, but also to pay for the work we need doing on our house sooner or later - My target this year is £4000.

Have some more things on Ebay - most have watchers and 7 have bids

CC1 is down to £1660.90 so I am hoping to pay some more off once my ebay items have sold.

Have reduced the credit limit of CC2 and will continue to do this every statement to remove the temptation of spending on it, so that once the balance has all gone the account can be closed.

Have both my younger children at home today poorly with a nasty flu bug, so its been a non-spend day but I havent been able to do all the idying I had hoped, or finish touching up the paint in the hall and dining room which I started on Friday.

  • New total paid off is 17.27% - A brilliant amount that I am so pleased with, and once my payments clear with Virgin tomorrow I will have hit my January target of getting under £6500 total debt.

My Feb target is to get my CC1 under £1250. I am still waiting to hear from Welcome but if my PPI claim is successful I will then be able to clear another £800 from it. Its just a waiting game now and I rifle through the post every morning to see if we have a letter from them :D

Feeling so positive about the DF journey at the moment, and really feel like I can achieve it this year, as well as starting my house savings so we can move to a bigger place.
