Been listing on ebay like mad yesterday and will be doing more today once my camera battery is charged again. Have listed 43 items and 24 have bids so far with lots of watchers so I am very excited about how much I can raise.
Went to the bank yesterday and paid £40 of Christmas money onto my card. I am quite proud of myself that I have had the will power to keep away from the sales. Its payday tomorrow so will hopefully be able to pay a good sum off the debt.
Still paying as much as I can off my Virgin CC - When I first started paying it off every £26 I paid was 1% of the debt, but now every £21 is 1%. I am hoping to get it down underneath the £1850 mark by the end of Jan.Pay off all my debts before Christmas 2015 #165.0 -
Will be back to update my totals later - I have realised that Virgin online updates after 9pm so I will see what the total is tonight.Pay off all my debts before Christmas 2015 #165.0

So my LBM debt was £7873.87, my total now stands at £7,352.18 which means since December 10th I have paid off £521.69 - 6.6% paid off.
I have bought the things I wanted to on ebay so now no more ebay buying for me will keep a count in my diary of how many days ebay free.
Still feeling really motivated - hoping I can get my Virgin CC under 2k by the end of next week.Pay off all my debts before Christmas 2015 #165.0 -
Have signed up for the NSD challenge and the Make £10 a day in January challenge - ready to kick some debt butt!!Pay off all my debts before Christmas 2015 #165.0

Having my first NSD here even though its not January yet. Cant wait for 2012 to strat because it will be a new beginning for me debt wise and I am really excited about it.
Have decided that once we are DF we are going to go on a holiday which wont be put on our CC's but will be paid with from cash. The children are growing up so fast and I want them to have some great memories and have been places. Been looking at the First Choice website for motivation. The Holiday villages look brilliant.
Still on course to get my Virgin CC under £1850 by the end of January. Its current total is £2075. That means I have paid off nearly 20% of it since the middle of December. Its been a hard slog but it will be worth it all in the end.

So is 01/01/2012 and I am feeling really positive. I want to be DF by the end of this year, or even earlier if I can make it.
I have a brand new spending diary which I can start today with a big fat NSD.
My resolutions for the new year are to consider every purchase I make and think if I NEED it or if I WANT it. If its a need then I will buy it, if its a want then it can wait. I also wont buy anything on credit.
My Ebay items have a few more days to go and I already have over £100. I still want to get my Virgin CC below £1850 by the end of January, even lower if possible.
Have arranged to sell some old DVD'd to Music Magpie and will get £9.49 for that, plus £2.43 cashback from Quidco paid this morning.
Every £20 I pay off my CC is 1% off the balance now.Pay off all my debts before Christmas 2015 #165.0 -
So these are my New Years Resolutions. I am posting them here to help me stick to them :-
1) Pay off my Virgin CC as quickly as possible. I would like it gone by the end of March if possible.
2) Then pay off the rest of debts.
3) Start saving once my debts are paid off.
4) Enjoy our holiday in June. The kids will have a great time and we all need a break.
5) Spend alot less on Ebay. I might even close down my account!
Days without Ebay bidding - 5 :j Think thats the longest I have gone in a long time
Still waiting for my CC payments to update so I can update my spreadsheet.
Really determined to get my CC paid off by March. We have lots of plans for Easter and I want to be able to enjoy it without the CC bill round my neck like a millstone, especially as the 0% APR ends in April. Its going to be a bit tricky as both my boys have Birthdays before then but if I am determined I can do it I know.
Today is another NSD. Only two more days until the three older children are back at school.
Still looking and daydreaming about holidays. Have decided that we will have an Easter break at the First Choice Holiday Village Red Sea Resort. It looks amazing and its going to be such a motivator.
Sold another item on Ebay and a book on Amazon, plus sorted out soe stuff for Music Magpie so thats another £20ish.Pay off all my debts before Christmas 2015 #165.0 -
Hello
Firstly you seem to be doing really well, well done!
Was just wondering how successful you have found Music Magpie? Is it worth it? We've got loads of CDs and as my husband has just bought us an ipod touch I'm tempted to copy over the CDs and then sell them.
Also, what kinds of things are you having sucess selling on ebay - you sound like you are doing really well so I'm intrigued as to what you are finding is selling well.
Anyway, keep up the good work....xx0 -
Music Magpie can be a bit hit and miss - most old CD's are only worth 30p, DVDs are a bit more but again it depends. I like it because its easy and I usually sell childrens DVD's that they have grown out of.
Things that I have sold on ebay in the last couple of weeks include some vouchers I got for Christmas, branded perfume I dont like. Toys that the children have grown out of (Thomas and Cars the Movies stuff have sold really well).
Clothes are not going so well at the moment, but that might pick up as we move towards warmer weather again.Pay off all my debts before Christmas 2015 #165.0
