Nearly under £2000 on my CC - very happy that I have paid off nearly £600 this month.

Got my Sun holidays form today and think I am going to book for June. It will mean 2 holidays in one month but they are bargain ones.

I am hoping my online CC statement will update later with all the payments I have been making so I will post my total later.

Have managed to get my credit card down to £2,029.25 - I have some paypal payments which are due to hit my account soon which will take it under £2000. I am busting a gut to get it gone before the end of March, but I know it will be so worth it when its all gone.

Another NSD here and no bidding on Ebay so that 5 days.

Current debt totals £7159.68 out of the £7873.87 I started with, so nearly 10% paid off in a month.

I havent posted for a couple of days, but I have still been debt busting. I have now paid off 10% of the debt I started with at the beginning of December, so I am on course to be DF by the end of October which is brilliant.

I have made a claim to have our PPI paid back from Welcome. Its from an old loan but I have all the paperwork so I am keeping my fingers crossed. Its worth £2400 which will make a nice saving buffer (and a little bit to pay off our debts).

My ebay items have finished, I have made about £250 after the fees and postage. This is going towards our family holiday in June which we are all really looking forward to. Its paying a debt before I get one in a way as I was planning to pay the balance off on my CC and now I wont need to.

Have had 4 NSD this week, and its been over a week since I bought anything or bidded on ebay :j.

Now all the children are back at school its so quiet in the house in the daytime - though it does mean I get to keep on-top of the housework and my ebaying. DH spent most of yesterday putting some of DS's Star Wars Lego together to make sure all the pieces are there for it to be sold. I have listed it this afternoon along with some other pieces and I have managed to sort a few more bits out that can be sold later. I still have not purchased anything myself, all my ebaying is one way traffic.

Credit card is now down to under £1900 (or it will be once Virgin update their online systems. If I make a payment via internet banking it hits that evening, but if I make a card payment via their online system it takes two days for it to hit the account. Its so frustrating as I like to see all the payments coming off.

Another spend day today and there will be another spend day tomorrow as my youngest son has an appointment at the dietician and the blood clinic (he is currently being investigated to see if he has a gluten intolerance which can be linked with Autism apparently). If he is having bloods taken I can see it will take alot of chocolate buttons to make him feel a bit better.

Have found us an apartment to stay in next summer for our holidays. It looks beautiful and its in a small complex in Menorca. We were going to one of the First Choice Holiday Villages but the prices are so extortionate. I dont want my first debt free holiday to cost nearly as much as the debt I hope to bust this year!!!

On the debt busting front I am not doing too badly. I have paid off 20% of my CC1 balance off this month, and have paid off 10% of my total debt balance since 10th December. It really has been the Payment a Day challenge and the Pay all your debts off by Christmas 2012 challenge that have kept me motivated, and I am trying to get the same buzz out of paying my debts and after that saving money that I used to get out of spending. The feeling isnt the same if I am honest, but it does last longer.

Managed to pay another £50 off the CC this morning. That means I have reached my target of getting it to £1850 by the end of January so I am going to set myself another target of getting it below £1700 before January 31st. Once this has gone I can move onto my biggest debt which is Barclaycard - £4100 at the moment.

I cant wait to update my whole totals at the end of the month to see how much my debt has shrunk. I know thats its under £7000 but I would really like it under £6500 by the end of January. The last couple of months have been quite easy payment wise but its going to get a bit more tight over the summer with the childrens birthdays and holidays so I would like to be ahead of myself before April so I have some wiggling room in my targets.

  • Paid another £50 to bring the percentage paid up to 11.97% - paid off nearly a grand since the middle of December which I am so shocked about, Before I was this motivated I would waste money on bits and pieces and just stuff really, and I am so surprised how well I have done. I have had a little look on ebay and I am watching a beautiful mosaic mirror which would look perfect in our front room. Its a shop which sells loads so I am going to keep watching until I have paid off £2500 from my debts and then I will treat myself. Its just been window shopping on ebay - not bought anything since January 1st.

Feeling a bit down tonight. I am proud to be dealing with my debts and I know I wont ever be in this situation again, but I think about what I could have done with the money I am now paying off. I know I am paying off at a faster rate than I was, so I didnt always pay massive amounts off, but I feel so foolish for getting to this point in the first place.

Still, it has been the hardest lesson yet, and I will be debt free before I am 30 and can start looking to the future having learnt alot about myself, and about my own limits - what I can achieve when I want to.

Have a new determination to be DF today, I dont know why but I am liking it any way. Have been watching re-runs of relocation relocation to keep myself motivated and its definitely working. I know what I want to achieve and how I want to get there. Paying off my debts and living well within our means is the first step, then saving as much as we can is the second. Its a three year plan which means being DF by October this year if I can manage it.

Sold a couple more things on ebay which were collected today and another couple being collected tomorrow. Went to Nationwide to deposit the money into my savings account and the machine ate my money . Still isnt showing on my account so I am hoping it will be there in the morning. The lady who dealt with it was lovely and it seemed it wasnt the first time the machine had gone a bit wrong.

Just waiting for my virgin online account to update then I can put down my new total. My other CC statements will be due around the 20th-25th. I cant wait to break the £1k debt repayment barrier.

  • Had a quiet weekend. Made a couple of small payments off my card so just waiting for those to come off.

Its been a week since we sent in our ppi claim to Welcome. They said they are taking about 6 weeks to process so we should hear next month. I am so impatient and will be counting down the days :o

Barclaycard statement is due to be printed on Saturday so I will be able to see it online and update my totals. I hope I have paid off an extra £100 off this debt in the last month. Its been bobbing round £4000 for a while, I would make a payment to bring it under and then the interest would push it over again. I am hoping this month I have gone passed the £4k threshold, never to be crossed again!

Nationwide still havent credited the money that was stolen by the paying-in machine, they are saying it will take 7-10 days
