I have tried all kinds of cat litters in an attempt to save money, but the only one that i find is any good is Catsan, which is one of the most expensive i think!

I agree, tried loads of different ones over the years, and now stick to the Catsan ones.

FridayCat - that is what I was thinking, delivery guy would kill me if I ordered a 40litre bag (1 floor, flat) and would be worried about tipping it over to fill the trays and having space to keep such a large bag....

I think the delivery people are used to all my online orders now :o but luckily I am in a house so they don't have to lug it too far :D

I keep it in the cupboard under the stairs.

I like Sophisticat Aloe Vera £1.99 for 4l at Wilkinsons. It's a fine pink litter with a nice floral scent and is very good at absorbing smells. When a cat wees in it you can stir it around ( I use a garden trowel!) and it all dries out. Solid waste sort of mummifies and is easily removed!

all litter makes some kind of mess - clumping is better as you can remove `used' stuff regularly without having to chuck it all away - also covered litter boxes are good for keeping granules in the box (& sights/smells obviously). The others have covered the best of the bunch. You could try mixing clumping & non-clumping (say wood chip) smells nice & not so `rock' hard to clean.

Worlds Best Cat litter is quite honestly the best cat litter ever!! It's not cheap to purchase but is fantastic value for money as you don't get through it very quickly. Absorbs smells and gently clumps without wasting excess litter.

I have often thought about buying Worlds Best (shows how sad I really am, I suppose :D). Have you tried OKO Murtle, and if so, how would you say the two compare? To me they seem very similar, but WB is more expensive, so I was wondering what the reason for that was?
  • Do you have access to a Costco card? The Costco cat litter is the best we have ever tried..... And we tried lots...catsan, wood pellets, crystals, all sorts of clumping.....
