Bathroom fan wiring

Hi, my humidity bathroom fan is wired straight to the lighting circuit within my loft and switches on and off depending on the humidity level. Fine and dandy but 'bathroom smells' don't trigger it sadly. I would like to put change the setup so that it comes on when the bathroom light is switched on and turns off again after the light is turned off although I will use the extended timer run that it has. My question is does anyone know how to change the wiring set up. The choc bloc within is wired live, neutral and earth and goes straight to the matching wiring in the lighting junction box in the loft. There is a spare wiring point on the fan next to the live, earth, neutral wiring which is marked 'slave' . I assume this is the wiring point I need to tap into but can anyone advise please?
Thanks
Thanks

You probably replace the twin and earth to the junction box with triple-and-earth cable.
Connect L N and E as existing.
Connect the switched live in the junction box (which may be black sleeved with red, or blue sleeved with brown) to the slave on the fan.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
I don't think the fan you have has a timer built in? Otherwise, you would have live and switched live terminals.
The 'slave' is to connect another fan etc.If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!0 -
Make and model?

Hi, Its a MANROSE VXF100H from B & Q. There is a timer adjuster within the fan ranging from 1 min to 20 min.

Have you seen this timer in the fan yourself or are you going by the manual? As sometimes the manual covers all models of fan for ease of printing i assume, but it dosent mean your fan has these features.
If you still have the box there should be an exact model number on it something like -
BVF100T - This one has the timer
BVF100S - Is a standard fan
BVF100P - Has a pullcord
etc etc0 -
I don't think you can do what you require. The fan you have needs a permanent 'live' - the humidity sensor triggers it and the timer determines the duration.
To utilise the light - you need both a switched live (for on/off) - and a permanent live which then takes over for keeping it on run for the timer duration. But you don't have the circuitry for the switched live?If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0
